maddzz1
Whenever its really hot out, and I turn the key on the MJ, my fingers start to get burned before it turns over. In the summer I have to put something over the tabs around the key before I turn it. Does this happen to anyone else?

Geonovast
Never on my Chrysler Jeeps, but I've had that happen to me on all my Renix ones with the GM key. Maybe it's the chrome finish.. maybe it's the long start time.. maybe it's both. :dunno:
maddzz1
:dunno: guess that means you should tint your windows :rotf: The windows from the XJ with the factory tint will be going in eventually. -600JeepMJ
:dunno: renix or not they both have the same thing. turning the start key pushes a rod to activate the swich futher down on the stearing colum. it would be melting wires befor it burnt your fingers. down here were it realy gets hot in the summer every one has a cheap cardboard sunblock we put in the window to tey to keep the inside of the car below 200*f
Geonovast
He's referring to the ambient temp and sunlight making the switch hot, not wires shorting out.
