Eagle
If I remember correctly, the advertised curb weight was approximately 3,400 pounds (1545 kg). If you are running larger tires and wheels, and/or have added a lot of equipment or armor, add those weights to the curb weight.
AmJay
Which Tirfor are you getting? I had a 2000 lb one quite a while ago but sold it. It worked ok, but it was heavy about 40 lbs with the cable. Mac...
jteckmann
Just confirming what Eagle said - When I go to the dump or the gravel pit, my truck ('86, 4x4, long bed, no lift, stock wheels) weighs in at about 3600, give or take. Subtract my weight (about 200) and that's at 3400.
dan12
Now that I know the weight of my Comanche ,the closer option is the Tirfor for 5291.09 lbs(2400 Kg) in the air as I know, pulling, the power is double(more easy work), but if still not enough a can add a pulley .The 4x4 experts say that the winch have to pull 2 times the weight of the vehicle ,so will be ok. Thanks guys for the info
jpnjim
I posted the info for 1992 here: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=21642 Some of the pages didn't scan that great, but you can see the curb weights.

Thanks guys for the info How did you come up with that math? The pulley? The rig at 3400#, let us say you may have to have someone inside turning the wheel for you so add 200# and then add fuel and gear for 300#. that is 3900# and then you double that for 7800#. This is why everyone says to use a 8000# winch minimum. We use 8000# winches with the pulley and it is slow. With a manual winch it will be like watching grass grow.
