ParadiseMJ
RadiatorBarn.com...put in the year, model, etc. Don't get it off of e-bay, don't get an aluminum/plastic radiator. If you have a closed system and want to keep it that way, just order a radiator for a closed system. If you WANT to convert to open you can get a new all metal, 3 row radiator at RadiatorBarn.com for $165. Hoses (all hoses) will cost you about $75-90 if you go with good quality, but not over the top hoses. A new (different) heater control valve will cost you about $25. A little engineering and an afternoon, you're good to go. You don't need any kind of different t-stat. You may want to wire your e-fan to a switch. More info?? Pete M
I have an "open" radiator in my closed system. works great. :D
jimoshel
A radiator doesn't know, or care, if a system is open or closed. All it sees are 2 big hoses with gook coming in one and out the other. A third opening, on some, is closed by a cap which opens at 15psi.
wannabeMJ
what type of rads do you guys have brass copper ? alluminum ? 1 row ? 2 row ? 3 row ?
HOrnbrod
Alum 1-row w. hi-flow water pump. Best way I could cool my stroker. 3-rows suck; the small passages clog easily and restrict flow.

Granted the one I got for $63 shipped was plastic/aluminum and single core, but it was better quality than the 22 yr old OEM plastic/aluminum single core. Plus, it still had the Renix temp sensor bung in the side. Have had mine for almost a year with no issues and my temp needle never reaches 1/2 mark. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/91-92-93-94-95-96-97-98-99-00-01-JEEP-CHEROKEE-RADIATOR_W0QQitemZ280378934426QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMotors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories?hash=item4147e3049a
ParadiseMJ
What's wrong with the ebay radiators? OK, I should have qualified that with an IMHO. I just personally would have a radiator made of metal, seems to be a concensus on all the Jeep forums AND it just makes sense that aluminum core crimped on to ...plastic...just isn't as strong. If you're getting good results then great!

And I'll 2X's that statement  As I replace my radiator in the E350 this weekend...........only 2nd time in the past 4 years I need to do that again  Hey.......they sold me a *life time warranty* Plastic/aluminum radiator, so it just my time for the free replacement :fs1: And Yes, it leaks right at the top seam of the plastic/aluminum
comanche09
Eh, I enjoy wrenching on my MJ. :chillin: The OEM lesser quality plastic crimped to aluminum one lasted 21 years... $64 shipped (and received within 3 days), hard to beat.
bighause
I also recently ordered the $65 ebay radiator. It was an exact fit and seems to be made at least as well as the OEM one it replaced.
