Curt Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 The little electric motor in mine has quit. Anyone have one for sale? oh, and: I've owned this truck since new, and I don't know what MJ means. I might know what the J stands for...
Geonovast Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 Ever heard of a CJ? MJ is the classification for Comanche. XJ is Cherokee YJ is the Wrangler from 87-95 TJ is the Wrangler from 97-07 ZJ is Grand Cherokee from 93-98 Full list of that stuff, and acronyms here for ya : viewtopic.php?f=9&t=12815
Pete M Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 yup, MJ is just the company designation for the Comanche. essentially, the M can stand for anything you'd like it to mean. My Jeep, Manly Jeep, Macho Jeep, Masochistic Jeep, Mass-of-broken-parts Jeep, or whatever.
Curt Posted March 28, 2010 Author Posted March 28, 2010 Thanks for the info on MJ. I take it parts are hard to come by?
Pete M Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 parts that are unique to the MJ can sometimes be harder to find (if you don't know where to look), but we share most parts with XJs, so those are plentiful.
Curt Posted March 30, 2010 Author Posted March 30, 2010 I guess it's time to start hitting the junkyards. Can anyone tell me what years had the same motor as my MJ?
Pete M Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 86-90 XJs and MJs were available with the TBI 2.5L engine.
Geonovast Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 86-90 XJs and MJs were available with the TBI 2.5L engine. Wouldn't the TB on 87-90 2.5L YJs be the same as well?
