mvusse
So it's an 86 with an 85 build date. So what? My 87 (with factory 4.0 straight 6) has a build date of November 86. I guess that must mean I have a 86 prototype 4.0?
shawn
exactly. --it must still be registered as an '86. ----when i first looked at his ad, i was thinking maybe it was registered as an '85. ------ maybe I'm a bit anal, but that would just be weird. Geonovast
Registration goes by model year, not build year. A good portion of vehicles are built in the actual year prior to their model year. February's not even over, and I'm already seeing commercials for 2011 and 2012 cars. It's ridiculous, and I don't know any reason for it. mvusse
It used to be around September that the next year's model came out. Then in 2007 GM released 2010 models of some vehicles
shelbyluvv
My 87 Shelby Charger was built June 13, 1986. It is one of the earliest 87's known to exist.
Geonovast
My first 88 XJ was built in August of 87, and my current 88 XJ was built in October of 87. Both my MJs are actual 91s. Haven't gotten around to looking at the door sticker on the 99 yet.
