Scott86mj
My brake lights quit working so I tried replacing the stop lamp switch. That did not help. What else could be the problem? No power going to light no matter if the switch is in or out. Thanks for any help in advance.

Pete M
MJs have a connector in the wire harness just behind the driver's side rear tire. It is notorious for corroding inside and may need to be cleaned or replaced. I had to replace mine in the 88 and found a generic connector at the parts store. mike
also make sure no rodents have climbed up and chewed on the wiring going to the lights, i had that problem with a dakota i had! no only did the dam thing chew through the brake wiring in back but also chewed through some in the engine compartment for the ignition!
