jimoshel
Use a torque wrench. Keep a close eye on the indicator. Now tighten until the bolt head snaps off. Torque the remaining bolts to 90% of that reading. Or, if your short of bolts: 2.5 and 2.8, 23ft. lbs 2.1, 16 ft. lbs 4.0, 40 ft lbs If your gonna be doin a lot of work, ALL Jeep owners should do their own maintenance, Get a Chilton or Haynes manual, or if your serious, get the Factory service manual. It helps if you give all pertinant information on what your workin on. Jim
mjeff87
use some blue loctite on them too, and tighten them in a staggered pattern much like you would tighten wheel lugs.
RLCollins
I use two different books. One is Haynes that is OK on very general questions. I also purchased two service manuals for my year Jeep. One was Engine, Chassis and Body the other is electrical. Bishko Books also offers a parts book. They can be reached at 1-800-544-3312 or E-mail bishobook@aol.com ot their web site http://www.autobooksbishko.com. These books are thick, I paid $115.45 including shipping. It was a good buy. :D
