noise in the front end

I have an 86 2 wd 2.5L and when i turn to the left i here a noise on the right side sounds like something rolling across the bed of the truck. Any Ideas what that might be?

x2. that's a new one by me. :hmm: Are you sure the tires aren't touching anything? does it happen whenever you turn or only at full crank?

If it sounds like metal against metal, my best guess would be your u-joint. Have they been changed before? They are cheap.

that would have been my thought too, except that the truck in his sig is 2wd.

Happens only when turning left. I jaked up that side and the tire assembly doesnt sag any so i figure its not the bearings. So now I'm lost... when I'm driving straight it on does it if going through rough dirt roads and its wet outside. All the sound it coming from the front drivers side though..

motor mounts ok? exhaust hitting the trans crossmember?

motor mounts are about 6 months old. I didnt see any rubbing on the exhaust. could it be control arm bushings or some thing like that? the noise sounds like something rolling across the bed of the truck..

checked the upper and lower control arms the bushings are still good. and its still making noises...
