comanche13 Posted November 13, 2009 Posted November 13, 2009 anyone have one used for sale my 4wd won't work... and i can't figure out why when i shimmed it worked and the vacuum lines look all good and the motor seems to also work...

comanche13 Posted November 15, 2009 Author Posted November 15, 2009 well i just don't like the idea of my axles always spinning if i lock it over. no i never did shim it i just tested to see if when i switched my transfer case into 4h/4l it worked and it does so that makes me think it has to be a vacuum line or something...
Geonovast Posted November 15, 2009 Posted November 15, 2009 I'm curious as to why you don't want your axle spinning? The axle always spins. The outer shafts are directly connected to the wheels, and the inner shaft spins just as fast, except in the opposite direction. All the CAD does is prevent the front driveshaft from spinning. Jeep had completely done away with it by 93.
Pete M Posted November 15, 2009 Posted November 15, 2009 well i just don't like the idea of my axles always spinning if i lock it over. . yup, as Geo said, only the front driveshaft is affected. the front axle shafts spin regardless. Locking it up just makes it like any other Jeep since 93ish.

Pete M Posted November 16, 2009 Posted November 16, 2009 only to get the bigger U-joints that come with the later year axleshafts. The shaft itself won't really be that much stronger than just sliding the locking collar over permanently.
