Pete M
I know it's not an original idea, but I decided that this will be the fix when the rust catches up to me (or I smash them up on the trail, whichever happens first). I think I'll just cut away the outer bedsides of my 88 and add a flat panel and support frame. Maybe with a diamond tread pattern on the flat panel. Maybe even aluminum. :brows:

DirtyComanche
But Pete's won't be. I predict a hackjob of redneck porportions. (No offense ment)
Pete M
No offense taken. :D I'm all about the clever ideas, not necessarily the high-zoot follow through.
Wanderin
Any idea when you might get around to doing this project? My 89 is already too far gone for anything else
Pete M
Not until the 90 has a drivetrain in it, and I fix the rear axle in the 88, and well, it might be a long time before I can do it. :( But I wanted to make my thoughts known, just incase it inspires someone else. In my head I figure it shouldn't be all that hard to do. :brows:

DirtyComanche
You don't need his advice, all you need is the "If in doubt, cut it out" mantra, a 6-pack or two, and some spare blades.
