Lower Control Arms-is this a good replacement?

If you're looking for stock length control arms, I'd go for some arms from a junkyard WJ. Strong boxed design and a bend for tire clearance. :thumbsup:

If I was going to replace my lower control arms, theres no way I would go back with stock replacement units unless they were free. I agree with the WJ replacements. The WJ upper arms are also the correct length to replace your upper arms and are built much better. I have a whole set that I will install when I finish my 4x4 conversion. Let us know what you end up doing!

Not always. Just look for cracks and dry-rot. Plus, the WJ's really arent THAT old, so chances are, they will still be in good form.

Good point! Does anyone know of a JY in Massachusetts/Rhode island/New Hampshire that has a WJ in stock?

 

I've been to JY's in Millis, Carver, & Blackstone MA in the last week and they do not.

You could try searching car-part.com for other WJ-only items and calling those yards about the arms.

 

The WJ metal sleeves will need to be trimmed a bit to MJ specs.

 

 

 

And this probably isn't required, but while I was in there I trimmed the arms and the axle a bit for maximum articulation. :D
