navigator Posted September 30, 2009 Author Posted September 30, 2009 I've not even tried it on a ramp yet. My experience on boat ramps with manuals is you can never trust an e-brake or turning it off in gear. I've had both wet/bite me in the rear. I have another vehicle that i tow with for now anyway.
Pete M Posted September 30, 2009 Posted September 30, 2009 Low range does wonders for holding a manual on a slope (when shutting it off). Works way better than an ebrake in my experience.

navigator Posted October 1, 2009 Author Posted October 1, 2009 I might have to try that, then my only problem would be backing the boat for the 50 feet I have to go to get the 4wd to disengage ;-)
Geonovast Posted October 1, 2009 Posted October 1, 2009 Do you have a working CAD? Get a manual actuating kit for it be it cable, vacuum, or just a manual switch on the housing itself. That was you can go up and down the ramp all day in low range without worrying about anything. Just leave the CAD disengaged, and you've got 2lo.

If the light stays on it might indicate that the CAD is sticking. No biggie. Personally I would just flip the CAD to be engaged all the time and never worry about it again. :D
