aftermarket tps ???

picd up my new tps (renix) at the dealer today and the guy said they are not being manufactured anymore. and that there are only 12 dealers in the nation that have any in stock.

 

can these be found in the aftermarket?

 

or is this info the standard bs we here all the time up here in the AK

I don't know about TPSs, but I've heard that most of the alftermarket CPSs are junk. It's probably BS. I never trust what the dealer says.

 

My dad ordered a new Steering column quite a few years back.(Before I knew anything about Jeeps). Dealership told him he had to get one from a 91, and the only one available in the entire country had to be shipped from Kentucky.

There's aftermarket ones. Hit up rockauto.

 

As to of quality, I don't know. I imagine the later dealer ones are probably off-shore junk anyways.

Sounds like the people who worked on your dads XJ gave him a lot of the "91 only" BS.
