Oizarod115 Posted August 18, 2006 Posted August 18, 2006 thats just about worth it (not this time a year but come may it will be) how hard is it to remove/install one of these? does the freon hurt skin? or is it just poisonous?
partsmj Posted August 18, 2006 Posted August 18, 2006 Here is some info. http://www.wou.edu/~avorder/Refrigeration.htm
DirtyComanche Posted August 18, 2006 Posted August 18, 2006 That's a lot for a AC compressor... I mean, I could get a perfectly good one for about $25.
Oizarod115 Posted August 18, 2006 Author Posted August 18, 2006 That's a lot for a AC compressor... I mean, I could get a perfectly good one for about $25. ;) how do i know if its good or not though if i get it from a JY?
Regger Posted August 18, 2006 Posted August 18, 2006 Pretty easy to get a good one from a JY.. try to get one with all the hoses still attached, that way its not exposed to the elements... And once you have the pump, just spin the front pulley and make sure it sucks on one side, and blows on the other... You can also add 12v power to the clutch lead and make sure you hear a click and the pulley doesnt free spin.. Then you good to go... HTH Ryan
Oizarod115 Posted August 18, 2006 Author Posted August 18, 2006 hmm good deal i think mine would blow cold if the clutch worked. but i don't get any drop in idle at all or anything when i cut it on so I'm pretty sure it doesnt kick in.

Got gas? There's a low pressures sensor. If you are low on freon the relay won't allow the clutch to engage.
jbhill Posted August 20, 2006 Posted August 20, 2006 also dumping freon into hte atmosphere and not recovering it is ILLEGAL as hell. also take the belt off, idler pulley, and the lines once pressure is recovered, the a/c comp is only 2 bolts and 2 nuts, 14mm i believe :D
