whowey
Well after managing to punch a hole in the gas tank over memorial day weekend, I need to replace it on the XJ. When I did the same job on the MJ, I had a can of aluminumized paint that I painted on the tank. Six years later and it still looks great. But I can't find the can, or remember the name of the maker of the stuff. Anyone got a product they have used, or know of a good one?? I think it may have come from Eastwood as I used to use alot of stuff from them when I was building cars. After digging the mass of mud and crap outta there and getting the skid plate off and the tank loose. I'm not in a hurry to do it anytime soon. So extended its life would be great. Wildman
I've cleaned up and painted a couple gas tanks using this product with good (low cost) results - http://www.rustoleum.com/CBGProduct.asp?pid=36 I know Por 15 makes a gas tank "kit", that I have not tried yet.
