whowey
Thats the same seller I bought some knock-off 'blue' headlights for the ZJ from. Burned out VERY quickly. Like the first sub-zero day...

I AGREE!!! I got a set of the blue ones. Looks like the same guy, but was some time ago so not positive. The bulbs that came with them, BLOW.... FAST!! Pun intended, for sure!!! Just like smithe1811, I threw in a set of Sylvania something or-other and now I like the light very much. More of a flood of light, with a distinct line so as to not blind oncoming drivers. The high beams are OK but could be a tad more focused. But no troubles.. that's what the 130V blasters are for!! :D CW
dancome433
man i was thinking about getting the black ones for my black comanche to make it truely all blacked out, but if theyre not that great I'm giving it a second thought, might jus get them and do what smithe1811 did and swap the bulbs out

When that didn't make them acceptable (i.e. my small keychain laser pointer/flashlight STILL showed brighter than the headlights), I upgraded to a set of bulbs ($50 for them...good quality h4's) and that STILL didn't work. these headlights are worthless. but they look great :D had them in my black/chrome 86 xj for a total of two days

I think if Jeepco couldnt even get them to work they are probably trash.
GirsMJ86
Taken from the listing for the black ones... # These lights are made for show off purposes # The lights are not very reflective because of the black housing, so it is very difficult for drivers to see at night. PLEASE BE AWARE OF THIS FACT Heh, they even warn you guys they are for show... I've been thinking about the regular ones, how hard is the swap? ~Alex
gogetemturbo
I installed the regular ones in mine. I didn't even bother with the junk bulbs they sent, and put in some high quality h4s. I love them. Pretty bright imo. I used them in my 87 (but had 2001 wiring) and now in the 92. Very happy with them. Image Not Found
87Warrior
The guy parting a 98 XJ left those light on the header when I picked up the 97+ XJ clip parts. He said they did not work at all. What a bummer.

gogetemturbo
Did anyone wire up the little bs light that comes with them too? It's a little blue halogen that pops in on the bottom on mine. I didn't bother wiring it up, just curious if anyone did. I guess they are for running lights?

I just got my sister's bf to order a set of the regular ones for his cherokee. giving him my nice h4's to replace the crappy ones with. he asked me to hook up the small ones to his strobe system...he's a full time EMT in 4 different states (right on the WI/IL/MN/IA border) and so these small lights will come in handy for his strobe system. CWLONGSHOT
Mine are a bit different.. they have a series of lights all around the outside edge of the bulb. SO, I guess they are different after all. My TJ has a set of DELTA H4 lenses. those have the small colored bulb you guys are speaking of. I am going to upgrade the wiring to 12Ga and see if that improves the light output.
