DirtyComanche
Yeah, but who has the gauge. Basically, tighten it like Oizarod115 said, and hope for the best.

JohnQ
Great I think I got a little carried away with mine. Is it possible to ruin the belt by getting it too tight?
DirtyComanche
I dare say so!
Stumpy
not only that but you can hurt the bearings in the pulleys. you could always buy a new one and use the old one as a trail spare

I always adjusted till about 1/2" of "slack" is acheived. CW
pingpong
Tghe alternator is very easy to damage the rear bearing on it... trust me you wil know when it happens.. the alt will lock up, and then your belt will start to smoke.. and lastly it will break, hopefully you will notice this happening, and not ruin your engine from running it hot
