I always adjusted till about 1/2" of "slack" is acheived. CW
pingpong Posted August 3, 2006 Posted August 3, 2006 Tghe alternator is very easy to damage the rear bearing on it... trust me you wil know when it happens.. the alt will lock up, and then your belt will start to smoke.. and lastly it will break, hopefully you will notice this happening, and not ruin your engine from running it hot
