Serpentine belt ?

Recommended Posts

not only that but you can hurt the bearings in the pulleys. you could always buy a new one and use the old one as a trail spare

Exactly...I would be more worried about the bearings that are being stressed than the belt itself......

I always adjusted till about 1/2" of "slack" is acheived.

Tghe alternator is very easy to damage the rear bearing on it... trust me you wil know when it happens.. the alt will lock up, and then your belt will start to smoke.. and lastly it will break, hopefully you will notice this happening, and not ruin your engine from running it hot
