Clutch fluid hose

Recommended Posts

Would one in a '87/'88 2.8L 5spd/4x4 MJ interchanged with one in a '88 4.0 MJ? And also would a hose from a '94/'95 XJ fit into a '88 MJ? Mine died again and I'm tired of patchin it together so I'm tryin to think about my options before callin dodge.

I've got a hose and clutch master from an 88 XJ 4.0 BA 10/5 in my 91 2.5 AX-5. Slightly modified to work with the 86 AX-5 external slave setup.

Basically, as long as it fits, it will work. Just watch though, they went to a $#(%%& plastic line in 91, and IMO is a pain to work with. It also mounts into the slave differently. If you use the line from the 94/95, you're probably going to need to swap masters.

94/95 would also be an external slave cylinder. Your 87 will be an internal.

There was no 2.8L in 87 or 88. Someone's feeding you bogus input.

No biggie, I went to Pull-a-part and I'm mad b/c the MJ that was in mint shape was gone, but I found a nice little two door '93ish XJ that's a 5spd. Got the slave res/line all the way to the slave cyl., the center console and both seats with brackets for around $60 for everything. Time to start puttin it all in :brows: .
