The last time I took a Greyhound, they lost my bag, and when I got it back they had rifled through it and took whatever they wanted and even added stuff to my bag that wasnt mine! I made a claim with them for it, but they just sent me a letter in the mail saying you can't prove anything, Fork You! Theyll never see another penny from me! :fs1:

my buddy swears that the palletized motor someone sent him through greyhound arrived 2 weeks late.

And that someone took a deuce on it...

That's odd. You sure it was greyhound? Reason being, a motor would be way over their weight and size limitations.

Weight: No single Package will be accepted for transportation that exceeds one hundred (100) pounds in Actual Weight. Provisions for shipments weighing up to, but not exceeding, one hundred fifty (150) pounds apply in selected areas. Shipments over one hundred (100) pounds are limited to the routes of carriers with a (150) after the name. See next page for applicable areas. Xpress Baggage shipments may not exceed 75 pounds per piece.

Size: Packages will be accepted for transportation, provided the dimensions of the package are within 30 inches X 47 inches X 82 inches.

If it's just a stock bumper, I shipped my old one (MJ rear) via UPS to Texas, and it only cost about $40.....

S10 chrome  Guy gave me dimensions and weight, @$65-70 from Boise to Da Boro according to fedex.com. $72 each from UPS and The Dogtrack's Belly Box. If he'll do it for $125 shipped I'll probably pull the trigger. All the yards on car-part.com quoting $200 plus for a good one. Still waiting on pics but he says it's straight and clean. Was in a storage facility so seems like he's not worried about making a bunch of money on it since he's only asking $75. :brows:

It was a few years ago, they may have changed the rules since then. It was also a bare, aluminum Lsx block from another guy's project car, so even then it may have been light enough to pass. The whole motor just breaks 300lbs, so just the block may be light enough.

However, I have also heard stories of people shipping axle assemblies cross country this way. So who knows.
