SchneiderFishing
Looks like I may need to replace the water pump on my 1990 Comanche 4.0. Any advice, suggestions, brands to buy or stay away from? Thanks Robert
wallisek
Any brand from you local parts store should do. If you live in a warmer climate, 4x4 or tow with your jeep I'd highly recommend a flowkooler brand waterpump. I run one in my cherokee and it makes a huge difference. Instead of constantly running 210 (or higher in summer with AC on) it runs solid at 195 and never goes above 210 even on those hot days with stop-and-go traffic. MrSimon
Take the opportunity to flush the cooling system. Be careful to not strip any of the bolts. Let your RTV seal set up overnight before running the truck - you don't want the pressure causing a leak because the seal isn't solid yet.
Kittrell
When I did my '99 I went with a Hesco pump. It's a great piece of hardware. Well engineered. Flow Kooler is an option too, but I seem to remember a lot of them failing fairly quickly. http://www.hesco.us/shop.asp?action=det ... catId=7967
SchneiderFishing
I am a near the west cost. We get days of 100+ in the summer and nights in the winter of below 30. I tow a bass boat. Well I hope to tow a bass boat (again).
