phenryiv1
I don't have a problem with the $30 price of the Rusty's Air Tube, but the $16 shipping charge just makes me cringe, as I ship a lot of crap and cannot figure out how the rate should be even close to $16. That being said, are there any other tube intakes (eBay, other vendors, etc.) that we can use in conjunction with a K&N or K&N-type filter? I found this on eBay (I HATE using an eBay link, but it was the best I could find.): http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1988-198 ... ccessories It says that is works for an 88 (which is what I have). Another one: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1989-199 ... ccessories (Lists 89-96 as applications.) BTW- I spoke with a rep at Rusty's, which sells the same tube for HO and Renix motors. I asked about the additional tubes and he said that they just get disconnected, which sounded odd, but there were not complaints on here, so I suppose it works. Thoughts there? That's what I always wondered, I know that there are two vacuum lines on the air box that the HO models don't have. One of them appears to go to the valve on the front of the airbox (I'm fine with removing that) but the other line looks important. Anyone know what happens to that vacuum line? ComancheKid45
I have excact Intake kit on my truck and i had 1 extra vaccum line that had nowhere 2 go...so i just spliced the 1 bigger line, stuck the fitting inside of it and superglued the seam tight.....seems to have worked so far after over a year
maddzz1
I just plugged the extra line up with a screw.
XJ Maki
Rusty's shipping has always seemed a little high to me You can get a piece of 3" exhaust tube and stick it on the end of the stock intake tube and clamp the cone filter to that. Stick a mini filter on the valve cover. Works.
jpdriver1
go over to your local pic-a-part and pull the flex hose off of a v-8 ford taurus ---- it has two vacuum line connections. put it on the end of the exsiting hose (from airbox) and use a k&n type filter on the end --- has worked for me for several yrs.
