mjeff87
Anyone into it? I just found out we have a state association  http://www.vlmra.com/ Pat! the next race is practically in your backyard, up there on the peninsula. Wanna go drink some beers and watch some 'necks? :D Jeff
87manche
the "world championship" is held in my backyard. Mansfield OH hosts it, about 18 miles south.
sinnaevd
i'm not but my neighbor's are  He got poulled over doing 95 hm/hr in a 50km/h zone, funniest thing i've ever seen in my life. that would be 59MPH in about a 30MPH zone
mjeff87
I'm ashamed to admit, but if you guys think I keep the engines clean in my Escort and the MJ.....y'all ain't seen my riding mower yet :brows: I get a little OCD on it (but I have to store it outside under a tarp, so I consider it "weatherproofing" it more than anything) I don't think I could bring myself to enter it into a roundy race, but wouldn't mind going to check one out. Add it to the list of things my wife won't be interested in..... Jeff

87manche
I saw it local once on the Mansfield public TV station. Insane. These people are making like 30 HP out of a Briggs motor. They do solid front suspensions and some had coilovers. The unlimited classes were hitting speeds 60-70 MPH on a dirt round track, and leaning in to the turns like it was motocross. whowey
They have the 'Dixie Chopper/Sta-Bil Gas Treatment' nationals about 3 miles from my house. I really think its just a dig at Woods though. Woods HQ is in our county seat.
DirtyComanche
I do know of two seperate incidents (not me personally, mind you) of people being issued DUI's on riding mowers. I saw that on COPS or one of those sort of shows. It cracked me up. Drunken hillbilly running from the cops on a lawn mower!
pingpong
Jeff you are right... that is like 10 minutes from my house, but I have to work 3-11 Saturday. Some of the guys involved in that sport take it very seriously, kinda like Our lil dirt track up the road in Saluda... racing is very serious in this area
