glundblad
Has anyone heard anything positive about putting a performance chip on a Comanche 4.0 or an XJ 4.0? Good or bad?? I always assumed they were a hoax but I had a guy try to tell me they really work.
BLHTAZ
Depends on what year engine you have. If it is a Renix era ('87 - '90), then you are out of luck as far as I know. If it is the HO ('91 & newer), you can get things for them that do make some difference, but they are typically kind of expensive and usually not worth the money. 702_MJ
i have a JET stage 2. They say it adds 25% HP and like 10 ftlb of torque. Not completely true. I'm thinking more along the lines of 10-15hp and 5-10 ftlb of torque if your lucky. But hey you would have to see dyno numbers. I got a 4.0 HO 135000 k&n intake, aftermarket header, and header back exhaust. Seat of pants theres a little bit more there but i don't know if its worth it to you. like $260 from summit racing. Hope that helps.

Taz is right on the first part; if you have a Renix I'm pretty sure you are SOL. But he's semi-wrong on the second part, they ARE worth the money to get the most out of a stroker engine (at least the Unichip is) and it's proven on the Hesco dyno. I posted these results over on the strokers forum: http://www.jeepstrokers.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=387. Don't remember if I posted this here or not. I also don't think a chip will do much for a non-stroked HO engine with a couple of add-ons, not economically wise. :D So Taz was right about that part too. Taz was mostly right again. He also loves the Stillers. Damn you Taz!
