The windshield washers on the wifes 2000 cherokee havent worked in a couple months so I finally got around to looking at it last weekend. It appears the pump itself has decided to retire on me. My question is where is this dad burned thing located at? I'm thinking ita probably in the bottom of the resevoir but thought Id do some research before I start pulling the fender to get at it. Thanks

it's under the reservoir in the fenderwell. there are actually two of them.

to get it, just pull back the front of the inner splash shield inside the fenderwell...the front part just drops down, making it plenty easy to get done without taking the whole fender or flare off.

Sam, I think it clearly shows there are two pumps as above. But I guess you were asking about the common fuse??

JT, it pushes to the rear after you loosen the two mounting screws.

Yes, pushes to the rear.

I know it has two pumps(windshield/rear window), I am asking if either of them work for two reasons:

1: it may not be the pump that is the problem.

2: if the pump is the problem an easy way to get working front washers would be to switch the hoses around

The second pump is a spare. I ran wiring and fluid hose from both and capped one off under the hood. So when one burns up I can just switch over w/o pulling the fender liner out.

And actually some export XJs had the leveling headlights, but they run with vacuum motors - like my old Benzs did. :D
