so confused

Recommended Posts

i have a 1990 eliminator and i am in the prosess of replacing the valve cover (upgrading to the newer gen.) and all the hoses and that good stuff. i was wonder what you head honchos preferance on where these hoses and vacuum lines run and what size hoses and such you have found to work best . i see alot of dif. configurations in the pics on valve covers.

But my real question is does anyone know what the vacuum line that is next to the throttle body goes to.and what is that little canister (shaped like a hockey puck) that is mounted to the air box closest to the fender right behind the driver side head light and what is it supposed to hook up to. (it was hooked into the back of the air box but i got the vent hoses from napa and a dif hose replaces where it origanally went) i didnt see anything routed from those on the vacuum diagrams i got from this site.(but then again it was for 88's)

thanks

If you don't have a hot air tube going under the intake to the hole on that "hockey puck" then it doesnt matter.. that round thing is a diaphragm that open a butterfly valve to let warm air into your intake on cold starts. I removed the whole assy and covered the hole in my truck. As for where the line went... I do beleive it went on one side of one of those "tits" on the firewall side of the air cleaner.
