Found a potential drive train donor for the MJ project which can not be started until the winter of this year. it is a 93 cherokee, body poop, interior/mechanically excellent.

it has been lifted 5ish inches, running 36's with about 70% tread left. 4.10 gears, HP in the front D44 in the back. auto with the NP231, with the HO eng.

Basically everything I am looking for all in one nice little package......

PROBLEM: I am broke, and have no where to put it. he will sell it to me for 50 bux, wife devorcing him...do I listen to my inner child and jump all over it like a fat kid, or myself for that matter, on a cupcake?? or do I listen to everything that says DON'T BE STUPID, NOTHING BUT HEADACHES???????

that's what I was thinking. 36's aren't my taste, I will have 33's and thats it. But for the drivetrain part, i'm thinking it owuld be worth it. If i brought it home though, my M&D would kill me, not to mention my GF having a heart attack. But i don't think they understand the concept of "DEAL"

i thought about it

it would only take me maybe a day to tear everyting I need out of it...and the garage is almost finifhes so I have a place to put the junk....then scrap the rest. but i have a feeling the $$ part will kick me in the butt at some point. still saving for this years tuition and books and everything

I wouldnt worry about the money i would try to sell everytnihg you don't need including the tires. Depending on the brand you can prob get 300-400 for the tires and thats more than you put in it. don't think of it as buying something lets say its an investment cause you will get more return than you put in. Thats just my opinion.

If you're willing to get 'heavy' with it you could strip it in a day. That's just taking a torch and blowing away everything that gets in your way. But the wiring will have to be removed without damaging it. And personally I'd save the doors, hatch, fenders, hood, header, seats, interior, steering box, driveshafts, etc etc. Even if it's not usable to me, I can sell it. But that means no taking a torch and jsut going crazy.

Personally I'd leave myself a couple weeks at LEAST. And I'd not take the HoHo wiring, I'd just throw the renix intake etc on the HoHo block and run the renix system. Although, I'm not sure what your plans are. And you might need the wiring for the tranny and blah blah...

I hate wiring.

It's easier to store and move in one piece, IMHO. You should sell the tires and put some crappy stockers or spares on there, that'll cover your purchase and some mini storage. It's not like you're driving it you just need something it'll roll on.

lol, I will probably cry....

He seems like a super nice guy though. the reason for sale was a divorce issue..so I don't think he was looking to sell it for the money. Actually I though about putting it on the road. he has it plated right now and was driving it like 2 weeks ago

one oopsie upon arrival was that it has a D35 instead of the D44, but from and back were both regeared to 4.56, which is good cuz I will need the 4.56 front for the MJ. Also running 242 tcase, not 231. Still A hell of a deal in my opinion. beautiful rims as well, not scratches or dents or whatever. i believe they are aluminum. need a little polish...maybe just a car wash.
