knightrider
Just got done tracing down gremlins, the PO butchered the tailight wiring, which in turn fried everything else. So I worked on putting it back to 'factory' wiring. Everything works (lighting) like it should and I have dash lights. Sprayed the front and rear flat black, gonna undercoat the 6-8" on all body panels. Here it is....RUSTY 213,000miles and 2.5 auto command trac 1986 beaut. and still ticking. Did a full tune up and gotta re-seal the diffs, but other than that....should be good for winter fun. Wouldnt mind lifting it later on.

knightrider
You're right. This thing is what a truck should be......only power brakes, steering and heat. I want to get some old wrangler steelies and 33's and a lift, but that's it. Possible olive drab pray can job after some rust treatment. It already has the custome aluminum floorpan mod on the driver's side,,,,,, It's already gutless, so I'm not worried about speed or anything, just some mild trail work and winter fun. Pete M
If you think it's gutless now, just wait til you've got 33s on it. :(
knightrider
Yeah, I don't think I can stuff a 4.56 in there, but it'd be about the only thing to keep it moving above 45. I like it the way it is for now......but lights and possible stock front bumper, rear delete in the future....
Pete M
Is it a 4speed manual or a 5speed manual?

Pete M
Actually, the 2.5L/auto combo should have 4.56 gears. Double check that on the diff cover tag.

His is an '86 so its sporting a Chryco TF904 auto I feel the need to say 3.73's as the ratio, but don't quote me.
