94-96 XJ AX-15 in a 89 mj,, what size pilot bearing???

Recommended Posts

Hey fellows... whats the right pilot bearing for swapping in a AX-15 to the renix 4.0l?

I thought it was covered before, but search came up with a million hits..

94-96 xj 2wd AX-15

into

a 89 2wd Comanche with the BA-10

I believe the the BA-10's pilot bearing dimensions were OD= 1.050 ID= .625

Thank ya much,, jt

Quick question... what rubber mount should be used with this swap?

94-96 ax-15 2wd into my 89 that had the 2wd ba-10.

I going to buy a new mount just don't know which one I'll need...

Thanks,, jt

EDIT: never mind rock has the same part number for both! :D

An AX-15 needs an AX-15 mount. Don't worry, it's easy to tell the difference. If it costs an arm, a leg, and a kidney, then you have the wrong one. :D AX-15 mounts are pretty cheap compared to BA-10 mounts (if you can even find one).

You should have This mount now for your BA-10-

Don't throw it away, TeamCherokee get's $95 for one of those

And what you'll need is a tranny mount for the AX-15 or AW4 -

ANCHOR Part # 2625 with 4WD; Trans with MT, 4AT

4 WHEEL DRIVE

2 WHEEL DRIVE

with RWD; Trans with MT, 4AT $13.69

From where else...........Rockauto

I searched rockauto for the 95 xj and 89 mj both had the same part numbers, so I was thinking they were the same mount for both. My mount is oil soaked and real gooey like. Staying with the J.E.E.P. philosophy,, might as well buy a new one...
