Radiator valve rusted closed, any advice?

The drain petcock on the radiator is rusted closed, any advice on how to drain the radiator?

A couple of guys have poked the radiator with screwdrivers, but I'd go with pulling the lower hose. Bit messy.

I've never used the petcock. It's in an awkward to access place and I'm paranoid it'll snap off. Pull the lower hose.

Especially if you have the factory rad. with the plastic end tanks. They are known to fail at the petcock when someone tries to use it. Save yourself a headache of having a busted rad. and just pull the lower hose.
