bench out....buckets in (finally)
bhorocks replied to mjeff87's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
yeah i like the black interior to.. looks good. i want buckets but if you have head issues I'm gonna have a kinked neck at 6'4" -
ask your wife. i bet she knows how to pull a vacuum! :brows: heck, she can probably push it to.. doh! just kidding
-
I'm sure once that thing goes on, it may not come off....
-
exactly.. i have ran r-134 in a r-12 system and it worked for two years till i sold the car. on a side note i'm kinda bummed i got a line on a 4cyl 4wd xj for 400 dollars and i'm unsure if i can get it... that would have been perfect for the conversion..
-
well iwill say the a/c turned out better than expected from the r-134 recharge. nice and cold i jsut don't run it on high seems to work better between mid-high. really nice to have considering the heat here! also scraped the old bubble tint and will re-tint today that should cool it down another 15 degrees.
-
awesome.. looks like couple beat me to the punch of buying it but put me in the list if it fits well!
-
well, finished charging it and while it isn't the coldest thing in the world it sure helps! once i get moving it kicks in well. Sweet... as far as leak testing goes they have a dy that you put into the system that you can buy. also have the uv light detector at autozone or any parts store.
-
thanks, that helps out knowing you converted over. Can't live without here in phoenix. i have to keep the tj till i get that goin!
-
i picked up new orings oil and charging kit for it. Hopefully that will do it. I have done it many times on my old honda and couple other cars for my friends but the compressor on those were more easily identified for the high and low port.
-
i need to pump the new refridgerant int othe low die port correct? the port that is on the side closest to the valve cover? or the other side? Unfortunately the manual gives no info on which side is which...
-
i think some quick measurements would also be helpful. that way you could get the right width and length.. 5' wide 6'3" long for my comanche bed.
-
read in the hayes book that you should not do it. anyone here using r-134 in their truck with sucess? also, i remember there being a mod you could do on the xj to get the a/c to be more efficient i just can't remember what it was.. any help would be good. Thanks, Billy

Image Not Found very similar to this one.. http://www.softopper.com/products_topper.html actually this may be what i was looking for but i thought it had a stouter frame...
-
looking for a vinyl camper shell i have seen in pics on toyotas. I know bestop makes one but it is not what i am looking for. unfortunalty I cannot remeber the name of the product... the sides roll up to the frame unlike the bestop all just folds down to the back of the cab. Anyone off hand know some other manufacturers of this product? thanks!

bhorocks replied to bhorocks's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
right on thx. yeah, i thought that they were taller but unsure. i know on a tj they will provide 4"s lift. thanks. not that springs are expensive anyways! -
First post! Glad to be here! question, has anyone tried using v8 grand cherokee coils for lift? if so, how much did you get out of it? I have a 2wd manche that i am going to convert but want to keep the cost down... you know the story.. new baby, wife, all that stuff
