  1. It almost looks and sounds like the starter isn't retracting fast enough before the engine picks up RPM's.
  2. Rockauto is showing same part numbers for BA10/AX15 but different numbers for HOvsRenix
  3. Is the flywheel loose?
  4. I owe everyone a thanks as well! Upon needing to do work on my Sentra I started looking into other forums for it... And immediately left them. This forum is seriously one of a kind and is in my opinion the only forum that REALLY has good information on it.
  5. I've begun doing DIY videos since I got a tripod and shotgun mic for my phone. Sadly I'm far from posting the first one, let alone getting around to finally researching my window leaks
  6. We have to walk out our back door to get to the washroom. That's why I called it external
  7. Wanted to get y'all some detailed updated pictures of the house to show the exterior/interior and how much property it is. If we buy it, we will be repainting the entire foundation and vinyl siding. That yellow is rough. The worst part of the house is the external washroom (you can see the door to it on the back "porch"). The previous owner had a dog that tore the drywall apart in that room and it only has a concrete floor. We plan to completely redo that whole room. The rest of the house, other than the wildly neglected back yard (my wife and I are working on it) is pretty nice.
  8. Thankfully I'm In the upper area of Alabama! Hurricanes have never really affected my area. Sometimes there's a tornado, but not often. Wind mitigation was on my list of upgrades my wife and I plan to do to the house. The roof was professionally replaced in 2017 so I would hate for the next high wind to rip it off. Ever since we moved in here we have started making a list of what we want to change, due to us wanting to own the house ever since we moved into it. The interior has been completely remodeled as well with new hardwood and paint. I've been in the attic and underneath the house and both look great. The joists all are in perfect condition and there's no sign of rot anywhere. But I'm sure the inspection will show something. All in all if we can agree on a good price (90-100k) and there's nothing life threateningly wrong with it, then I do plan to go with it. The area this house is in is GREAT and houses are only getting more expensive around here. Probably the biggest money-saving perks to this place is that it comes with ALL the appliances that were included in the rental lease and it comes with a big shed and carport. Lastly, we're already 100% moved in and very comfortable. Calling the credit union tomorrow and getting them to walk me through it. I'll let y'all know what the appraisal and inspection comes back as
  9. https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/1212-Robert-E-Lee-St-Leeds-AL-35094/973174_zpid/ I'll get some better pictures later due to this being the ad from before I started renting the house. The pictures on the ad don't do the house justice. It's really nice inside and out.
  10. Already on the list! Game plan is that Monday I am calling the credit union to get pre-approved. When my wife and I get back from Gulf Shores next week the landlords realtor will be coming to tell us both what the price should be based on the market (this is what my landlord will be basing her asking price on). After that I will be getting an outside appraiser to give me my starting price and an inspector to let me know anything that I don't already know. From there will be negotiating. And yes I will have an attorney present during the paperwork parts and ect. My landlord is very eager to sell due to her inheriting this house from her mother in the first place and not really wanting to manage the whole renting process. I've already contacted my insurance provider and they have approved me for house insurance as soon as I own it.
  11. Gotcha. So I have a couple options for the mortgage loan. Considering I'm a manager for Publix, I have access to the Publix Federal Credit Union. My only issue with that credit union is the nearest office is 6 hours away so I would have to do all of this on the phone. Would you recommend I go to a local credit union that I can visit and talk with in person during all of this?
  12. So back to this... My landlord is wanting to sell me the house that I'm currently renting. 3 bedroom, 1 bath, perfect little starter home in a great area. Me and my wife LOVE the house. It needs some updating, but is very comfortable and nice as is. Y'all have seen where I was talking about the wiring being outdated and that I am planning to update it if I buy the house. Last time it was appraised by a realtor it appraised for 98k. Which in my opinion isn't bad. My landlord is talking about using only one realtor to save on costs for both of us, which I understand. Since I've been living in the house for 5 months and kind of know it's quirks, do you think I need to pay someone to appraise it for me or is using one realtor a good idea? I think it's going to be much simpler since I already live in the house. But I want to make sure I cross my t's and dot my I'd, ya know?
  13. I may of found part of the issue. This is the tune up kit I got when I bought the Jeep 3 years ago (can't believe it's been so long...) The resistance on the wires are 3000 OHMs according to the spreadsheet. From what I can tell our Renix wires are supposed to be around 1000 OHMs.
  14. That wild goose chase made me find a lot of issues I needed to sort out, so I didn't mind it at all! I have been doing some reading on the subject and am now curious about my spark plugs and wires. Lots of people reporting that the Renix 4.0 will have a weird idle with spark plug wires that are not "low resistance". Once I have money again I plan to replace my wires with the recommended type from one of the threads and see if that changes anything. How can I test my fuel injectors/the signal going to each injector?
  15. This is what my fuel trim says while idling and warm.
  16. 02 Heater gets 12v power with key ON for about 3 seconds. After that it has no power unless you start the engine. The heater only has power while the fuel pump is priming with Key ON. Still having a rough idle. I'm starting to think maybe the 02 isn't a good brand? It doesn't have any markings on it but it is not the original 02 sensor. Another question, When indexing the distributor, with the #1 cyl at TDC, where do I need to set the rotor at? The write up says the trailing end, but in the picture on the write up it shows the tail end of the rotor covered by the #1 terminal. Is it supposed to be like this
  17. I really dislike these guys videos. They show no actual knowledge behind Jeeps and they seem to refuse to do any actual work themselves.
  18. I also found a bundle of yellow wires that were poorly soldered and wrapped in duct tape. They were further down toward the firewall though.
  19. I found this little bundle of poorly soldered orange wires wrapped in duct tape. Any idea what they are? Also found that the relay that Google said was the heater relay, was not actually the heater relay. Instead of being the first relay on the right, mine is the second relay from the left. The one I'm pointing at. The right 2 relays have 4 terminals in use and have 1 wire with 12v power with key OFF. The left 2 relays have 5 terminals in use and only have 12v if the key is in the ON position. The heater relay has a yellow wire (86) which has 12v power to it with the key ON. but upon back probing the relay with the key ON, the orange wire (87a) does not have power still. There is also 2 orange wires coming off of 87A. Any reason why? The fat orange one has got multiple breaks in the insulation. I'm thinking by the end of this I will have to replace a good section of it. The engine does NOT have to be running to have power to 87A, correct?
  20. Which wire from the relay supply's the voltage to the heater?
  21. I've swapped the relays with no change in anything. I'm suspecting faulty wiring?
  22. Looks like it's time to break out the soldering iron and get to work, eh?
  23. 4 had 11.7V and 9 showed no volts. Upon moving the relay center back to look at the wires, I found this... An utter mess. There's a fat orange wire that is nasty and has breaks in the insulation across about 12 inches of it.
