new radiator, new thermostat, no CAT issues and still tank is boiling over........ should I replace tank???? i did get all air out of the system 88 MJ 4.0 THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!

I will probably use it more as a Home Depot runner and the occasional off road jaunt, but also just want to know that it is capable and looks good. I really want to keep them both, but that is not realistic for my driveway and the wife is tired of seeing both trucks, a CJ in the garage, my company car and her 4runner. Just needed help deciding and I think I will keep the LB.

I need to sell one and don't know how to make up my mind. They are both 2wd, I want to convert one to 4wd, and lift it. The '88 LB is in really great shape, has 210K on the clock and runs great. The '90 SB, I drive all the time but is not as nice as the LB right now. I like them both, but one has to go, any opinions....... Thanks!

they are the moab rims off a rubicon...... not sure of the backspacing on those,,,,,, what do you think?? THANKS

Will they work?? Eventually will do a lift and 4wd swap, but could I put these on my 2wd for now?? thanks!

Going to the open cooling system on my '88 MJ. Was in Pepboys tonight to get something else, but decided to ask about the radiator for a '92 XJ. Dude said they had one for $129.00, I asked to see it, it looked okay quality wise, but it was made in China. I did end up buying it, but am definitely having second thoughts. Also, I am assuming its a 2 core. Any opinions on my purchase?? I appreciate any feedback!! -MAtt

88 LB 2wd 4.0 220K. Runs great, leaks some oil, HORRIBLE paint, AWESOME interior, SOLID truck. Gotta sell one, just haven't decided wich one yet.... Some pics.....

with out looking at the gauge..... i remember the needle staying in the 12 o'clock or so position then crept over to the 1, then 2 o'clock positions. hope that makes sense! then i turned it off and the bottle started boiling over.... what's involved in going to an open system?? Thanks!!

changed the valve cover gasket.... there was some rubber-like one on there, is that OEM? the oil leak slowed alot although i have not driven it much...... still dripping from the RMS, i am pretty sure. took the radiator out to have it check, b/c i am running warm.... should I change the water pump while i have all that stuff out of the way, or just not worry about it?? THANKS!!

I hope it is the valve cover, that will make me happy. Just can't believe that a leak there would cause that much oil to be everywhere. Going to find out tomorrow, can't wait!!

Thanks!! I will check that. Going to clean oil off this evening to try to get a better idea. I just can't believe how much oil is all over the place.

Any ideas?? Picked up another MJ last weekend, its an '88 MJ, 2wd 4.0 220K miles . Drove it home on the interstate about 1.5 hours at 65 mph, rode and drove great, but slowly got warm on the temp gauge. Problem # 1 Parked in the street when I got home and the resevoir(sp) started boiling over. Haven't really had the time to check, but am assuming termostat, radiator, or losing pressure somewhere...... correct?? Problem # 2 There is oil everywhere under the truck..... it is dripping from the crossmember under the tranny, it is all over underneath the tranny and the back part of the engine and now all over the driveway..... seems to me like a bunch of oil. Would a RMS cause this much oil?? Thanks for any imput!!

When I bought it..... Currently...... (crappy pic) Plan to convert to 4x4, do a mild lift and add some 31's.

i got a 42 samsung lcd and love it. get the 1080 if you can, there are pros and cons to the plasma vs. lcd, but the lcd worked better for me b/c of the outside light that comes in the room and it being hung on the wall

please advise.... don't drive the MJ much, but today I did more than usual. Driving along in 4th gear, occasionally the RPMs would drop then jump back to normal??? Then, when I slowed down and came to a complete stop, the engine would quit(this would happen almost everytime I stopped)?? It is a 1990, 4.0, 2wd, 5 speed. Thanks in advance for any help. I did search some, but did not see anything specific.
