    Pull a Part?

Did you use my idea to liberate the axle? It works on the front too. Just be careful.

    Pull a Part?

Find a jack in a car or truck . Find a rim that they put under the vehicles. Put rim under bumper and jack on rim and jack vehicle to desired height. Then use more Rims as jack stands . Be safe and good luck.
  3. I can only tell my experience. I started by talking to my contact person every month for the first 3 months then called every week for a few months. Then they called me with weekly updates until 04/19/95 when my Jeep rolled off the assembly line .04/19 just happens to be my birthday . Cool birthday present. I still have it but it has transformed into a RockCrawler stroked to 4.6 , NV4500, Atlas II , BFG Krawlers yada yada .

    JY Score!

I scored Manche Drive shafts today. I started by looking in every truck or suv to find a shaft that may work out with some fabrication. Some decent finds from explorer's and dodge Dakota's . Stopped in the Jeep area to see if a Grand Cherokee might work and like a light house from God a Comanche could be seen in the last row . I now know how it feels to win the superbowl... So I check it out and its in great shape. 4X4 and all so I snagged the drive shafts. And will be pulling stuff over the next couple weeks.
  5. I have to agree with the profit margin statement... I ordered my YJ in July of 94 paid in full at time of order . The Jeep was delayed a build date till April of 95 because all the 4.0 's were designated for the Cherokee's . So even though they had a cash sale for a brand new vehicle I still had to wait for 9 months because all engines were claimed for by Jeep.
  6. On January 2 my MJ is going to a local fab shop for some custom mods so he can make some MJ jigs. A gas tank skid was on the list. I am not sure what he will charge ...but I'm going to suggest a fabbed and a DIY kit when he does sell.
  7. If she saw my tow rig she would have had a cow.2001 Sterling Acterra that has a little extra blowby . Smokes pretty good at idle . I would have closed the door on her or rolled the window up. I get approximately 6-10 mpg and plan on leaving a huge carbon footprint. My wifes Land Rover gets about 10mpg . My YJ gets about 8 mpg . my mj probably gets the same . Send her my address she would croak in my driveway . When she saw all my gas and diesel guzzlers
  8. Ok so I was able to get the Manche running and have ordered some springs and a floor pan. The driveshaft will have to wait till I get springs on the and the 8.8 I scored from a junk yard with 4.10 gears. I will order an AUSSIE locker in a couple weeks. So I have moved on to a foreign land called electronics. I know nothing about electrical stuff. None of the gages work. I would really like them to work! Where should I start? I don't mind taking things apart so throw me some ideas .
  9. Cajun Sting
  10. This same symptom was happening to an XJ the fix was a vacuum line was leaking
  11. When I changed my YJ over to an 8.8 rear end with discs. I changed to a ZJ prop valve I also used a 68 Corvette bb/mc.
  12. X2 on Sicily Island . The only rock in the south. Dennis is a great guy and is making new improvements all the time.
  13. I will keep this thread updated. I am working straight through the next couple of weeks so I will do littlethings here and there till I get a day off. I am going to take some measurements tomorrow morning. I have a good plan as to what the cage will look like. I am stealing some ideas from XJ cages . I don't like exo cages but I don't know how much room I can sacrifice . I am 6'4" and 260lbs so I take up space in the cab. I still like to be fairly comfortable too. I am looking at some PRP seats called Daily Driver's. As far as a cage goes where is a solid part of the uni body to tie into ? Would you bolt it on or weld it? I can do either .
  14. Sounds good! I will have to check them out . I figure I will get an 8.8 and stuff an Aussie Locker in it while I am messing with suspension. I will also Truss the 30.
  15. Looks like Rustys has replacement coil springs and adjustable spacers($200) . I had a friend make some adjustable coil spacers for his XJ and he is sending me a parts list to make some myself on the cheap. I will update on this.
  16. Ok, so I got the Jeep running under its own power and the throttle is returning( Cheap spring on the return part of hinge) Here is the floor pan.. Typical from what I can gather And here is the sag to the left ...Springs are shot! I got my 6'4" 260lb ars in the MJ and thought it was going to flip over. I called the PO(2 Owners ago) to see what kind of lift he did on the MJ and he said it came like that but seems to think its a 4" Lift in front and just spring over in the rear with stock leaf springs. I will have to search out some new Coils and Leafs. Any company that you guys prefer to deal with / stay away from??? Axle shaft is coming out today and replacing it with trail spare from my YJ(Non Vacuum Shaft. BTW this ain't my first rodeo with Jeeps)
  17. Well it was already cut up and beat up so I guess its going to get it cleaned up he best I can with out spending a fortune (LOL)
  18. I don't know why the PO did this. since its welded I will have to cut and grind . I like the look but its bad execution. And serves no purpose . I have an idea to get a bench seat and seat belts for some brave soul to have some truckbed fun . I will post a snapshot of what I come up with in bendtech pro . Is anyone here using benddtech pro?
  19. I think the back space is 4.5 with a 1" spacer. Tire size is 35X16X15 the Tires are also grooved.
  20. I like the rear bumper do you have a build thread ? What does the front look like ?
  21. Yes cage is going by by! I will be fabing something up in bendtech pro so I have some knogen protection. D 35 is going to get tossed as soon as I can get a good 8.8 and an aussie locker for it.
  22. I just got this 88 MJ Pioneer Olympic Edition on a trade for a Boat. The trailer came with the deal too! The BAD The Dash does not work gauges or lights( I assume I will find something to fix in a search on this forum) The throttle will not return to Idle( I think the spring is worn out) The Drivers floor pan is rusted through( $50 fix) The rear drive shaft flange ear is twisted off( I bet because of the boggers and skinny pedal) There are all kinds of wires and hoses hanging off the Jeep(Previous owner neglect) The GOOD I have seen this thing off road from the owner before the last owner and I know it will walk the DOG. So I am going to get it back to speed so I can have a fun MJ on the trails. Here are some pics
