  1. Ok will check that out tonight after work. Thanks
  2. Ok thanks...also if my electronic fan ising working could that sensor be faulty or is there another problem to look for....or is there any way to rewire the fan so i have a toggle switch on the dash?
  3. Also. i noticed the sensor next to the valve cover which is the coolant temp sensor? so what is the other thing that screws into the drivers side of the radiator with an plastic connector on the end? it also says coolant temp sensor?
  4. Ok thanks. Are these swappable with anything? basically if i find a cherokee at a JY what year etc would i look for to find a gauge on?
  5. I replaced it. Reason being is when i got the new radiator from the auto store i also told them i needed the sender for my gauge not know what it was that was what they gave me. So i did some searching around and found where it went...hence why it has been replaced lol. So say i do have a bad gauge am i going to have to replace the whole gauge cluster?
  6. Ok got it..i replaced that as well when i did the radiator and its hooked up also....
  7. where would the switch/sender be located...i noticed a sensor of some sort that screws into the driver side of the radiator which has a connector on the end of it...That is all connected
  8. So i got a little problem, bought my jeep a little while back and have been fixing odds and ends on it for a while now. Ever since i bought it my temp gauge has not worked but i just never thought anything about it. Just recently my stock radiator blew a hole in it, so i went out a got a new one. I thought it would be a good time to troubleshoot my non working temp gauge. Long story short i put the new one in and still no temp gauge. I'm still new to the comanche way of doing things lol so any help would be nice...Thanks!
  9. shoulda bought a stihl lol
  10. I realize higher octane is kind of a waste of money. Thats why the first tank i put in was higher octane but now I'm running just regular but still haveing the same problem. I will definatly check the TPS though that sounds like it might be the root of it all. And if you don't mind me asking who did you go though to get your new injectors because i think that may be some of the problem but i don't want junk ones. So if you have any suggestions on where to get a new set, that would be real helpful. thanks for the advise, i will also be checking for vaccuum leaks. Anybody know the eaisest way to find a vaccuum leak??? and also it is a 4.0.
  11. nope fuel is good as well. actually just put some higher octane in it since it has been a while that its been ran.
  12. don't really know how to put this so here it goes. Just got my truck on the road, and now I'm working the bugs out since it hasnt been ran in over 6 years. When I'm driving, no matter what gear I'm in, when i hit a certian low end on my rpm's it seems to have almost no power almost like its not getting fuel at that point. Once i get my rpms up just a little bit she'll pick up and go. Its just that one area. idk if any of that makes sense lol but i have put a new fuel pump and fuel filter on it. Any help would be nice thanks!
  13. Got something a bit weird here. In the process of getting my truck on the road, insurance plates and all that fun stuff. well i call my insurance guy and my vin came up one number short idk why and now he's having a hard time putting it in his computer system. my vin is 16 letters long and all the other 87's are 17. just thought that to be kinda odd.
  14. alright ill go ahead and re bleed them and see if that helps out
  15. it has been like this since i bought the truck. So i started with the front brakes and worked my way to the back. When i put all new in the rear i got a little better brakes but still not much for any pressure until you get to the end of travel. It stops pretty good just doesnt feel right, i feel like there should be more pressure than i am getting. And there is no slop in the rear as far as i can tell both adjusters work fine and adjust properly.
  16. I'm pretty sure it does, not 100% on it but i recall seeing something similar to what you are talking about. I will check tomorrow. So if it does, will it have a tendency to cause what is happening to me?
  17. idk lol kinda new to all this, but it is a 87 pioneer I'm almost positive its all stock.
  18. i just fixed one brake line on the drivers side that was bad but no evidence of any other leaks. Also the booster is in good condition, i didnt know if i could take the vaccuum hose off it and maybe plug it with my finger and see if that does anything. idk :???:
  19. Hey just wondering if anybody out there knows of a way to test the brake booster? I got no pressure behind my brake pedal in the mid range of the pedal but once i get to the bottom of the pedal it stops pretty good. Just put new front pads on and rebuilt the whole rear, new cylinders, spring kit, and shoes. and bled everything down. any suggestions would be nice.

  21. It idles fine and i don't notice much of anything when at a idle, i notice it when i give quite a bit of gas it'll smoke then stop when i let off the gas.
  22. Hi everybody. I have been working on my MJ for a few months now and one thing ive been noticing is the white smoke coming out of the exhaust along with the rough idle. i just replaced my O2 sensor and that helped quite a bit with the idle and a little bit with the smoke. I am wondering if it might be something to do with the fuel injection, but idk. I have also done the C101 connector cleaning. btw it is a 1987 comanche with a 4.0. Any help will be nice thank you!
  23. I amfrom michigan as well and i love it! Hopefully soon i can get the snowmobile out! :clapping:
  24. Well i got a few problems here on my 87 pioneer with the 4.0. First off my brake pedal has almost no pressure, i put a new brake line in because it had a leak, once that was installed i put new brake pads on the front, but i pratically have to push my pedal all the way to the floor before it comes to a stop. I'm thinking it might be the brake booster but i have no clue any help would be great! Next problem/question, it has had a rough idle since i bought it. I replaced the plugs, wires, rotor, distributor cap also cleaned out the throttle body with a little throttle body cleaner. She still seems to idle a little on the rough side I'm not sure if it would be a vaccuum leak maybe the O2 sensor, or if i have a faulty throttle positioning sensor or what. i really don't know where to go from this point any help would be great.
  25. I just replaced mine on my 87 pioneer. It wasnt to bad, i had to take the braket for the power steering pump off and then pop the belt off. I also removed my fan for eaiser access to some of the bolts holding it it. but once you get the brakets out of the way, you just have to drain the coolant out of it than remove the bolts holding it on there and it should come off. like i said it can be a pain expecially if the power steering pump braket doesnt want to move. but other than that i got it done in about 2 or 3 hours. also just an fyi i replaced my thermostat while i was at it since you got everything undone, and you will need around 2 jugs of coolant to put back in. good luck!
