  1. I don't think so. I had to cut my cap to make it fit my MJ. the bed of an mj is not the same width front and rear.
  2. My little truck! Red with what looks from what I can find like eliminator trim and stickers. 5 speed peugot, 4.0 engine, bucket seats, sliding rear cab window, original AC. Zero rust. Was told that it's been a Texas truck since new but the paperwork in the glovebox has a woman's name from Richmond, Va. The data sheet on the drivers door is illegible. The truck is bone stock except it has a stainless steel gas tank according to my mechanic(?). Interior is clean, no cracks-my dogs claws ripped the driver seat the day I got it but I plan to get both seats redone. I bought the truck because I always loved jeeps-(have owned a 81 CJ5 and a 91 Cherokee in the past and miss them both) and the gas tab for my full size work van was killing me. I got a camper shell for $20 and a free full size ladder rack and it's my daily work rig. I'd like to upgrade the rear to a 44 and have MT springs or the equivalent installed. 4wd, tranny swap to ax15 and a HO 4.0 in my dreams. The clear coat on the paint looks like hell and the hood and roof went through a Texas hail storm but I'm doing a spot at a time and plan on undertaking the repaint myself. She's at about 140k and she get's it done everyday. I live near Austin, Tx and the truck is owned by one2hunt on here or Chris to my friends. Someday I'll stop saying it and learn to post pics. This truck is the only thing I've taken before and after pics of.
  3. MINE ISN'T WORKING RIGHT-iT'S SAYING IT'S AN AUTOMATIC 4X4. But then again I am not as puter smart as yall!
  4. Damn, why can't I find a bumper like that in a junk yard?!
  5. My truck has/had the same molding and pin striping. Does that mean my MJ is an eliminator? How else-where here can I find info. I just assumed my truck was a base model MJ.-Thanks
  6. Can I use bondo for the deep chips and scratches on my fender flares? I'm starting to redo all of the minor stuff like grill, rear lights, mirrors, and flares before I start on an entire paint job.
  7. I am still computer challenged -I know it's 2012!- but I need to post pics of my little red truck. I bought it to replace my full size dodge van and it only occasionally leaves me needing more cargo room. I scored a $20 CL camper top and a free HD full size rack and made both fit . My truck carries all of my tools and loads of material. She's not 4wd and she's got the crappy Peugot 5 speed and dana 35 but so far all is holding up well. My truck is 100% rust free. I've gotten more ambitious lately and am gaining some mechanical confidence. You see I am a cabinet maker but mechanical ability has always eluded me. I have taken the molding off the drivers side of the cab and done a quick palm sander and spray can job. The paint on the old girl is hurtin for certain but I'm determined to give her a facelift myself. The hood and roof look like a golf ball thanks to a good ol Texas hail storm but the entire rest of the truck has 3 very small dents body wise. In my dreams, she'd be white instead of red-4wd, moderately lifted with a newer tranny and dana 44 in the rear. The most immediate projects on the list of to dos are a class 3 hitch and new injectors. I really appreciate this sight and all the info I have been able to aquire about my little red truck.-thank you all!
  8. Hello all. I need help please? I have an 89 2wd Comanche with the crappy Peugot 5 speed manual tranny and it's leaking from the rear output shaft seal. The part number for the seal is 83504419 and the dealership says it was discontinued 11 yrs ago. I do not have the skill, time, or funds to swap the tranny and do the upgrade-as much as I would love to. Does anyone know how or where I can find a replacement seal? The local transmission shop, my mechanic, and several parts wharehouses(local and online) have come up with zip. Any help would be greatly appreciated. And for future reference if any members here are near Austin, Tx and knowledgable about Comanche upgrades I'd be willing to pay to make my little truck better. I love it and do not want to get rid of it. It has zero rust-an aftermarket stainless steel fuel tank and is in good shape-I just need to keep it going!Found it thanks-well I may be slowly aquiring mechanical skills but I'm taking the crash and burn computer course now. :chillin:
