  1. I have one that I might be willing to sell. I've never used it. It's been at my buddy's shop since new. I think he ended up buying a hydrolic bender and isn't using it anymore. Tim
  2. Thanks guys! My reason for the swap in the 91 is an extremely loud knock and a leaky everything. I can buy the new engine for cheap. My 88 at 142k is still strong and passed the smog test yesterday. I've done tons of axle, tranny, and T-case swaps. We have lifted and repaired many jeeps in my garage. I can weld anything from a broken heart to the crack of dawn. Swapping an engine is a first for me. Will the old heads and intake bolt up from 91 to 02? Would that be the easiest route? Tim
  3. I have a chance to buy a 4.0 with 14k miles from an 02 TJ that I'd like to drop in my 91. Will it work? What kind of problems should I expect? Any input would be appreciated. :chillin: Tim
  4. I hear ya! It's all good. I have no idea what's going on with either of my trucks at the moment.
  5. What color are they and what kind of shape are they in? I'd also be interested in just the brackets if they are in working order. Shipped to 63304 Tim
  6. I have the Kilby on board air engine driven setup on my rubicon. Both front and rear bumpers are converted to air tanks. I can seat a bead or run air tools. Fills up my 36" Iroks pretty quick from 3 psi to 30. My backup system is another ruby with the same setup that my better half drives. :chillin: Tim
  7. Tim, that's highway robbery. I've got a place in Columbia IL that can take care of you a lot cheaper ('specially if you carry the seat in). I checked out the MJ's at Speedway last month, didn't see any buckets unless they got something new in, highly possible. I'd sell you my gray buckets if they weren't already included in the sale of the MJ. I may have to take you up on that Chris. I could live with the price if they were going to make it look like JohnQ's seat. They were talking about using some of the old material panels, another $75 for sun visors, and $200 more for the head liner. I have one more place I'm going to get a price from. I bid on some bucket seat brackets on Ebay that ended up selling for $120 including shipping. Too rich for my blood!
  8. Thanks for the info! I'll have to see if I can get there this weekend.
  9. All 3 of my bench seats are the same way. $450 to rebuild the seat and recover it. I'm looking for buckets. Tim
  10.   Looks great!
  11. I was afraid you were going to say that. I'm going to shop around. I need to have the headliners done also. Post up some pics when you get it back. Tim
  12. I need to have mine done on both trucks. What kind of price did they tell you? Tim
  13. Love the rear bumper. Man that's clean! :chillin:
  14. Doesn't look like it would be that hard to make. :brows: Woopsiedaisies, I forgot to mention in my above post that i am personally welding/fabbing illiterate. If on the other hand you can make one yourself then go for it! Hell i'd pay you money to make me one too I guess I don't think about people not having access to people that fabricate things. I started my apprenticeship in the metal trades 26 years ago this week. (We need an old smiley guy with a gray beard!) I have a bender, welder, torch, and a garage full of tools. I can make almost anything. I usually have a buddy build what I want. He has a lot more time and works cheap. I'm more of a  these days.

  16. :chillin: Good check on my math.
  17. I have 5" BS with 11.50s rubbing on the lower control arms in the front. I'm going to 3.75" BS. I'm gaining 1.25" and only adding .5" on the tires if I go to 12.50's. I've found that 3.5" to 4.0" of BS is usually good on a TJ to run 12.50s. Since the front ends are close in design, I figured the same on the MJ. Is there something that I'm missing?

    poor tigers.

It's all :jump: and :beerhead: and more and some more  here in St. Louis. :USAflag:
  19. Thanks! I'm going to shop around for the tires. :chillin:
  20. x2. and they raise the price of the tires so you're not really getting one "free" It's more like buy 4 and get $50 off. I suggest you look into Maxxis tires. Best bang for the buck, I'm likely going to get some buckshots myself, and I know a few people with the bighorns that like them plenty. Thanks for the tire info guys. Sales pitch from my local 4X4 shop. :brows: Where do you buy tires from? My local hookup sells Interco and Firestone. The Interco's are out. Round tires with good wear and street manors are a must for the trucks. I ran Revo Dueller AT's on my Durango, but they are up over $150 a tire. I was hoping to get ATs a little cheaper.
  21. I couldn't find any MJ specific flares on Rusty's site. Bushwacker flares are all I can find for the MJs.
  22. Good question about the lift. I'm not sure. I've been doing searches here and found the thread about the springs being different on the 2wd models. The rear clears the 32's and looks good. The fronts are rubbing the lower control arms because of the backspacing on the stock jeep wheels. The truck has a slight rake with the rear sitting higher. The front part of the lift is just a set of springs I don't recognize and longer shocks as far as I can tell. With the 2wd spring packs providing less lift on a soa. I wonder if the RE kit would be to tall for the front? I have a spring pack from my 87 4wd parts truck I could swap in I guess if I ran into that problem. I guess my question should have been specific about the $1100 RE kit. I need tires before I do anything and didn't want to buy the wrong size tires. The pro comps have the buy 3 get 1 free thru the end of October, I'm running short on time if I want those tires. I was hoping someone with the RE lift would have an opinion. :dunno:
  23. Hi guys! I've been lurking around here for a while. I'm new to the MJ build up but not new to jeeps. We have his and hers 03 rubicons running 36" Iroks and terra LCG lifts for our wheelers. I have an 88 4X4 short box 4.0 automatic, an 87 4X4 4 banger short box stick (parts for the 88 ), and just brought home a REALLY clean 91 short box automatic that has been converted to 4wd. The 91 Eliminator is SOA with a stock set of jeep wheels and wore out 15x32x11.50's. The 91 is getting done first. My question is what size tires can I run without cutting the fenders? I'm considering buying the RE full suspension kit for the front. It has stock arms and a few other issues. The rear is SOA. I have a new set of 15X8 american racing wheels with 3 3/4 back spacing. I'd like to keep the tires from sticking too far outside the fender flares. Keeping more of a stock look. After I work out a few of the mechanical issues, it will be going in for minor body work and new paint. I have a guy that is even recreating the Eliminator graphics for me. :D Thanks, Tim
  24. Anyone know the answer to this?
