  3. pump won't run, i hooked the red wire to positive terminal of the battery, and the black wire to the negative terminal. sparks popping all over the terminals but pump did not turn on.

  5. ahh the purp must be for the fuel measurement. ill hook up black to neg and red to pos to see if it runs
  6. ok I'm wanting to text the pump, i can take the tape off and put it on the battery to see if it runs. but ive got 3 wires, red black and purple. do i leave out the purple wire or..?
  7. found the relays, they were on the right side of the jeep. now what
  8. i got tired of messing with the wiring, i just took the damn pump out. in my honest opinion, the wire pointed in the second picture is probably the problem, cause thats been burnt and retaped. the pump is also the wrong size, its being held down by a tie.
  9. yeah from my point of view thats just 100% confusing. am i gonna be working under, in, over, aside, or in front of it?
  10. here, sorry its dark but you should be able to hear. i put VERY LITTLE gas in the tb
  11. all the wires are connected. i even rewired one section of it cause it had been laying over the hot cata converter. and yeah 4v isnt nuf i agree, theres something screwy going on with the flow. the car cranks, it just won't get any gas. ill post a vid soon
  12. ok i wanna try checking relays but can u be more specific
  13. tried testing the voltmeter from the wires that lead to furl pump, the one u plug in. then tried from the fuel pump itself anything I'm doing wrong or anything wrong with this pump?
  14. turned the key on, pulled out the sending unit, and checked the voltage by red on red and black on black. returned 0 volts on the meter. Image Not Found
  15. this is the first time ive had to check a fuel pump, and returned 0 volts. batterys pumping out 12.73 volts, and everything else working even the lights. I'm thinking the fuel pumps just dead and ppl are telling me I'm checking it wrong
  16. here's what I'm using, now which setting
  17. give me one second, ima post a pic
  18. i knew there wasnt a fuse. and alright ill do that as well. i borrowed my stepdads volt meter but got no idea how to set it, am i supposed to turn it to DCV 2?
  19. ah yeah i checked there already. i didnt see one for fuel pump. will check again tomorrow. how do i check and repair bad ground? theres no fuel coming out of the tbi, the fuel filters new, lines are good. will add fuel in the morning to see if it works. we did make the pump fit on the sending unit, we use a tie tho.
  20. right, but WHERE is the fuses? hood? under the steering? etc etc
  21. taped up the wiring, same problem still. where is the fuse for the fuel pump?
  22. i'll post pics when my truck starts running lol. or better yet here's the latest one. the wiring for the fuel pump was burned by the cata. i taped it but didnt fix the problem. I'm gonna take the damn fuel tank out and see what i can find. i think the pump is the wrong kind.
  23. i think i may have found the problem, ive got no idea how to operate a voltmeter. but when i tried i spotted this. its the wiring that goes to the fuel pump, laying right over the exhaust. what u guys think? and where is the fuse for the fuel pump
