I'm pretty sure I have the AW4 tranny. When I drain the fluid should I replace the filter?

hey its freezing down here. It might not be anything like up north but its usually in the 70's during the day during this time of year. My truck probably wouldnt even function up north.

you know I just realized something. I could fit one of those little car in the bed of my truck.

My truck hates the cold. Its a super pita to start in the morning and then it stalls out several times of the course of the ride. Is there anything I could do to eliminate this?

I found the gasket. I had to look it up under CJ-7 on our computers. Would not come up under the 86 MJ. Now I need help replacing the gasket. I need to buy some red rtv?

mine came with straight exhaust, not cat. The previous owner took it off. Would it be a good idea to get a new one? would I gain any power or torque? I'm only running the $#!&tly little 2.8 V6

Well I got stuck in a huge sand pit. (don't ask why I was there without 4x4) well when I was tryin to get out my back end kept spinning but one side would spin while the other was stuck. So I'm pretty sure I have limited slip.

that I have a limited slip? or that I should put some kind of additive in the gear oil?

I found the gasket. I was wondering if I should put any additive in my gear oil. I'm pretty sure I have a limited slip diff.

god I think my truck could tow like 3 of them smart cars.

Ok I found everything except the differential gasket. I looked it up on advance auto part's website but its not coming up for the right gasket for my truck. The differential cover has 12 bolts and the the one that comes up on the computer has 10. I don't know where else to look. I start work at advanced tomorrow. I'm stoked.

so 75-90 is the best to get? nothing thicker? I think I have limited slip. What brand should I get? Lucas?

I'm looking to replace the diff fluid, doing an overall tune up and fluid replacement on my mj. I need some help with how to drain and fill the rear diff on the AMC 20 and what fluid I should use.

Yesterday I was driving home and there was a smartcar in front of me. However there was something really weird about this smartcar. The damn thing had a TOW HITCH! What the hell is a smartcar going to tow with a tow hitch? :doh: :???:

Ok to start with draining the fluids. How do I drain the tranny, rear diff, and brakes? And what should I use to replace the fluids. I have an auto tranny with the 2.8L v6 2wd. My rear end is an AMC 20 as far as I know my brakes are stock

Well I can't stand mine. But I have heard of one that was a beast. I friend of a friend of mine has one in his 80's Blazer and it flies. My friend said it was something about adjusting the timing just right or something. I'm not sure if I buy it.

Ok I've had my truck for a few months now. When I got it it was a mess. It seemed almost like it hadnt had any attention in months. Well right after I bought it I got the oil changed replaced the plugs and wires, and the distributor cap, rotor. Well now its about time for another oil change and I was wondering if I should do anything else while I was at it. I was wondering if I should: Do a transmission flush? and Replace the rear diff fluid?

I'm looking to lift my mj however I do not have much $$. Who does nowadays? Well I'm looking for just enough lift to clear 31"s and to make a smoother ride. I have heard people say zj front coils would fit but what would I do for the rear?
