 thats all i have to say. actualy i have a question. do you ever notice the long bed being dragged on the ground in this NE wheeling? I'm going to trim mine up, and make a wrap around bumper, but i was just wondering what your take on this is.

well after all of my huffing and puffing, i discovered its a vaccume leak. Eagle called it. i have fuel in the rail, but the battery died. thanks for all your help guys!!!!

now I'm gonna attempt to take out the pump. hope i can get it resolved. i want it MOVED before this snow hits!

ugh, i hate snow. i had a nice weekened wheeling trip planned too. now its going to be harder, and more annoying.

its a good idea to, but its prob ok if its not. its just a very fine screen that filters out particles. if you drop the pan get a new gasket (some come with filters) and clean off the magnets at the bottom of the pan, and REMEMBER to put them back.

no, outside on a dirt driveway :(. we have no garage.

i was going to try that...but i was a little nervous with the hot filament in the dryer so close to the gas tank. is it safe? i don't want to blow up.

ive pulled the filter...tomorrow is the pump :brows:  .

same way you drain the engine oil.

well i did what CW said, and worked back to the the fuel filter (i think its the filter...its about 1/2 the size of a 12oz coke can, and is back behind the cab). i took that off, and took the line off of the fuel rail, and blew through it. gas shot out indicating its clear. i blew through the filter, and gas shot out of that...its not the clog. i tried to blow into the line going into the tank, and i couldnt...now i don't know if thats the pump causing that blockage. i tried adding more gas to the tank (2-3gallons) and cranking the truck hoping to get some gas to come out of the line where the filter is usualy plugged into, but i didnt. i think that the clog is in there somewhere. is it ok to blow compressed air into the line...or will it kill the pump?

swap in 1 piece shafts.

are you guys using 2door or 4door XJ seats? i have 4door XJ seats in mine. they were in my parts vehicle here, and i wanted to use them. i put the MJ brackets on them and i have like 4-5 inches between my head and the roof. granted i have no headliner...but i think its perfect the way it is.

when are you getting your MJ back?

the MJ started and ran fine yesterday. i put a muffler on after the cat today, and i tried to start it today and it ran, then it sputtered then it stopped. i started it, sputtered stalled. tried again and it would only crank. i unplugged the CPS, sprayed some cleaner in there (this is what was wrong last time) and nothing. i checked that little fitting on the fuel rail, and there was no fuel in there. when i turn the key, i can hear the fuel pump running in the tank for 2 seconds like its supposed to. ~1.5 gallons of gas was added to the tank today to see if that was the problem...still won't start. can a line be frozen? we put some dry gas in the tank at around 1, and it still won't start. any ideas of what i can try? one thing i did do was unplug the 4 vaccume lines coming off of the TC that goes to the disco axle...i don't think that this is the problem though. thx.

thats a good idea! i need to go to NAPA on tuesday anyways...so i'll see if i can get some of those as well.

there are 2 on the passy side, and one on the drivers side. http://www.stu-offroad.com/axle/yjd30co ... vert-1.htm you can scroll down a little bit and see a paint immage that some guy drew. i will be installing a block off plate. what i was wondering about was the 3 vaccume lines that come from the transfer case...what do i do about those?
-
i think cause its lighter.
-
i just swapped in some shafts out of a 1996 XJ with 297 joints, and don't need the disco feature anymore. whats a good way to deal with the vaccume lines? should i but them off, stick somthing in there and zip-tie it shut? any other ideas?

Dana 30 high pinion - reverse cut - 27 spline, 1.16" diameter shafts, 7.13" ring gear - used 84-99 (some axles through 91 are vacuum disconnect, 92+ are non-disconnect, 89-95 with ABS have 5-297x u-joints, all 95+ have 5-297x u-joints, all others have 5-260x u-joints)

painting leaf springs question
Twisty replied to mjeff87's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
are you using that instead of the teflon pads? i'm going to rebuild my packs soon, and was wondering what i can do about the pads...but if antisieze works...ill do that instead.
