  1. Hello all, here is the truck. The truck started its life as a 1991 Comanche Sportruck that was purchased by the original owner in Florida as a Red truck with AC but a Radio delete. That truck ran its life til it came up to Pennsylvania where the person I purchased it from, Mike Barrett, picked it up and brought it to his Comanche Ranch. He loved it til I picked it up Sept 2022. Here is what it looked like. So that is how it was until i decided on the direction that I wanted to go. After looking around and determining that a Sportruck should live up to its name, I got in contact with a local shop called Ant's Hot Rods & Custom Cars in Deptford, NJ and hashed out my idea. The truck went to him and work got done. The transformation was months in the making but the final results were in just in time for Carlisle Chrysler Nationals where I entered the truck in the Jeep Cherokee and Comanche class and took 1st place. So here is the truck. So a list of what has been done is this. Paint - Jeep PPT Bikini Teal color, Spray in bed liner Body - Black Grille and headlight surrounds, Clear Corner lights and all new lenses, Breakaway door mirrors and the new Oracle LED Taillights, Roll pan was previously installed but was from a Dodge Dakota. Suspension - Lowered in front on ZJ rear springs with 1.75in coil spacers to help with clearance of the 20in wheels and tires, Rear is lowered with 3in blocks. Shocks have been changed to Monroe Monro-Matic Plus 32346 front and 31094 rear. Wheels - Dodge Ram 20in wheels painted Jeep PDN Sting-Grey Tires - Falken Azenis FK460 A/S XL P255/45/20 Interior - Only change is a Short Shifter from Cosmo Racing. Its a nice truck and plans on engine and more suspension/under truck cleanup in the future.
  2. I got to say, I’m intrigued by this. What company did this cause I’m definitely interested in maybe getting one as well
  3. So since I’m new to this community and I’ve been searching for a bit but I’m sure someone knows. Is there a similar vehicle that has similar dimensions to Short Bed Comanches? I'm looking for covers and storage solutions. Thanks
  4. Sup y’all, so I’m playing around with what to do to my 1991 4.0HO 5-speed Short Bed 2wd. I want to keep it Mopar so no Chevy or Ford swaps. I’m not against keeping the 4.0HO and building it as a stroker but I came from a Hemi in my Ram and would strongly consider going back to a V8. I plan on also keeping it RWD and would like to keep it 5-speed as I enjoy driving stick. So here is my questions. 1st, if I go to a V8, which would be better, a 5.9L or do a Gen3 Hemi swap? 2nd, what is the strongest rear to use outside of going to a Ford 8.8? 3rd, can the AX15 be strengthened or should I swap it to a different manual trans? Please don’t hesitate to let me know if there is something better out there but keep in mind I am not swapping to Chevy or Ford products. if there are links to write-ups I will be happy to check them out. Thanks in advance.
  5. Unfortunately no, previous owner resprayed the truck. But I’m hoping that when I get the truck rust repair and new paint, the guy may be able to hand paint the 91 Stripe…
  6. So I’m looking for ideas on what others have done to their 91-92 2wd MJs. I’m considering what I want to do to my 91 Sportruck. I’d like to keep the stock body and look but I’m used to more modern cars. I don’t want to do a 97+ upgrade and I’m not converting to 4x4. Would like to see pics or link me to your project page. Thanks in advance.
  7. So I recently purchased a 1991 MJ and it was a factory radio delete truck. I’ve been told this is kind of a rare option. I’m curious how many out there in MJ land have a factory radio delete. Just like to know where my truck stands amount the other survivors
  8. Well, I’m looking forward to seeing the truck on the ground. Is there a way to order the leafs like you did or just ask them for 3in lower MJ springs?
  9. Any word on those Lower leaf springs?
  10. Thanks for the info. Will help me put it back to stock.
  11. This is my new to me 1991 Jeep Comanche 4X2 4.0L 5-Speed Shortbed. I purchased it last month from an avid Comanche owner who has plenty but could use the stick anymore so sold it to me. He told me the history is that it was originally a Florida truck and spent most of its life there when it was then brought to PA. He purchased it in its stock form and brought it to South Jersey. Here is what it looked like when he brought it home. The truck has since been repainted a "cough" Ford color called Black Cherry and was lowered at one time but currently in this state of running JK wheels and Tires with adapters but all stock otherwise (that I am aware of). So what I have been told is that this truck is a Factory Air/Heat but Radio delete truck that makes this kinda rare but I'm not that sure of the uniqueness. Looking forward to getting this truck back to a more perfect condition and keeping it on the road for a while.
