Getting ready to pull AX15/231 and D30

You need to use your stock flywheel. I learned the hard way that the crank position sensor doesn't read the newer style flywheel. Had to drop the trans and reinstall the old one. -
Getting ready to pull AX15/231 and D30

The clutch master cylinder works. I used one from a 97. although I found out after that I could have used an earlier model one that used the same bolt holes. -
Also, yes you can get everything else from an auto Cherokee. Depending on what your gears are currently might be a good time to upgrade to 3.55 or 4.10 from a stock Cherokee.

I would say keep looking and wait until you find the ax15 you want. Deals can be found if your patient. I was in the same boat your in and one day in marketplace on bookface came across a deal for 300 complete trans/transfer case, front driveshaft and crossmember out of a 97 Cherokee. Maybe put out a wanted ad in this forum and also and bookface groups. What is your location?

Thanks everybody. Ended up being those loose E8 bolts. Broke 2 pivot pin pullers trying to get the 2nd pivot pin out. Ended up just tightening the 2 that were accessible and added some thread locker.

Anybody have any luck rebuilding there steering column? Or is it best to just find a replacement? Can’t find much info on this. Found this kit on Amazon. 88 Comanche 5 speed with tilt wheel. Column feels busted. Have to lift up and down on the wheel to find the sweet spot for the key to turn now.

Currently running around 6” of lift. Needing longer control arms to move front axle forward about an inch or so to recenter in the fender well and have a better ride. I will probably end up going 3 link in the future but for now looking into different control arm drop brackets. Looking on Amazon they have a few different options for a wide price range. Just curious if anyone has ran the HECASA drop brackets. They all look pretty similar. Just wondering if the higher price of the more name brands if justified.

Thanks for the offer. Just picked up a set today more local thank you. No longer looking for wheels.

My truck was 4x4 swapped. Previous owner had the front axle mounted only. I replaced the ba10 2wd transmission with an AX15/231 combo from a 97 Cherokee. Not sure what all went into mounting the front axle but I believe it was all bolt on. Just find you a Cherokee donor and swap what you need over. Or I’m sure you can find someone parting one out and get you need.

A good affordable radiator that I’ve dropped in my 88 Comanche, a 92 Cherokee and a 97 Cherokee is spectra.

That would be nice, if only I lived closer. Thank you.

Looking for a set of stock steel wheels around central California. Willing to trade the wheels and tires I have now. The tires have a lot of tread left but are showing signs of ware and weather. If traded the wheels I get in return will need to have tires that at least hold air. I plan on getting new tires in the near future anyways.

Dyslexic over heating at times, other times not

Could be a few different things. When my truck started having cooling issues I just went ahead and replaced everything but the heater core. It was relatively inexpensive to get everything. But thermostat wouldn’t be a bad start. Also make sure your electric fan is turning on when it’s supposed to. Could probably use a good flush of the system too. -
Maybe a couple a year. Some years more than others.

Tire sizes, lifts and pictures

Rusty’s 4” leafs with quadratec shackles and Bilstein 33-185576 shocks in the rear. Rubicon express 4.5” coils with 1.75” spacers and Bilstein 24-185943 shocks in the front. Rubicon Express adjustable uppers and fixed lowers. RE adjustable trackbar. Lift measures 5.12” in the front and 5.30” in the rear. Although the rear still looks much higher than the front. Probably going to add bigger spacers in the front to level it out. Measurements for lift size were found in another thread from this forum. Top of axle tube to bottom of unibody/frame. Currently on 245/75/16. Which is around a 30” tire. Going to get some 33”x10.5 in the near future on some stock steel wheels. -

The issue I’m having is finding one of the mechanical sending units. I’ve searched online everywhere and can’t seem to locate one. -
Electric to Mechanical speedo drive.

Maybe I could have. I’m not sure. The BA was long gone before I ever realized I need a different Speedo style. -
My truck was originally a 2wd with the BA10 transmission. I swapped an AX15/231 out of a 97 Cherokee. Where can I find the mechanical drive for the Speedo? The np231 currently just has the plug for the electric Speedo sensor. I already bought the correct length cable.
