  1. Man! You’ve done a hell of a job! Great restomod! I’m doing a lot of the things you’ve done to yours, except the LS swap, I’m keeping my stock 4.0 for now. So far I have raptorlined the bed undercarriage, X-frame, floors etc, I have a donor black interior and wil be getting some black Corbeau buckets. I’m also retrofitting air conditioning. I think i’ll be doing a build thread with pics as well. Truck looks great, I think i’ll end up with the truck covers USA bed cover, didn’t know we could have them on our MJs. Thanks for sharing and inspiring us.
  2. Nice! Thanks for sharing
  3. Definitely! Loved mine years ago. That’s not bad for the price, considering its security, quality and reliability, I was looking at the pictures, did you order your cover with the ladder rack mounts? Did you get the rack? How easy is it to remove/attach the rack? Thanks, and thanks for sharing the pics.
  4. Beautiful truck!!! Looks great, how much did you pay if you don’t mind me asking? I’ll probably get the standard with no tool box.
  5. Does anyone here have a picture of their MJ with the Truck Covers USA? any feedback? when I had mine on my 2006 Frontier I really liked it, worked great in any weather and kept the bed relatively dry and secure. https://www.truckcoversusa.com
  6. I just contacted them, they sent me the dimensions to confirm (see attachment), they may lower the cost if more people order it, I'll have to ask. I don't think the Comanche beds are different through different years (1986-1992) except for the length (6'-7') Comanche Bed Dimensions.pdf
  7. I couldn't remember the brand! had one of those on my 2006 Frontier Nismo, definitely worth it if you're willing to sacrifice some room for the canister where the tonneau rolls, I really liked mine, always worked regardless of temperature and looked great until I sold the truck. I'll see if I can get a quote, otherwise I don't mind a simple reliable roll up vinyl cover. Thanks
  8. Nice! I'm sure the color looks a lot nicer in person.
  9. I was going to repaint my 89 in the original white, and changed the sun-damaged blue interior to black, but changed my mind to having it painted in a darker color such as black or charcoal, now I’ll be considering the same blue, looks great! I think Dodge used it on their 94-00 Ram trucks and Dakotas. I think I’ll get the same tonneau, looks pretty good. Thanks
  10. Looks great! Really like the blue color
  11. I’ll check it out, thanks
  12. Hello I searched for tonneau covers, not surprisingly, MJ specific tonneaus aren't available (other than the now-gone Downey). One of the members here has a TonnoPro 42-304 that fits nicely , but from what I read on some reviews some people have issues with this brand. Once my MJ is restored I'll be using it as a truck so I'm looking for a reliable, practical tonneau cover (roll-up, trifold, etc) that fits my 6' MJ bed that can hold a few inches of snow (I live in CO). I've owned different tonneaus on other vehicles, had a Backflip that worked great until the foam under the aluminum got wet from snow and the freeze/thaw cycle ruined the finish and got really heavy, otherwise great cover, I wouldn't mind a nice roll up. Also had the classic roll ups and even a retractable one. Some people have used older Ford Ranger and Chevy S10 covers, does anyone have other covers besides the TonnoPro and Downey? Not really interested in a fiberglass cover as I'll still have full use of the bed as intended to haul stuff, just need something to keep stuff out of sight and relatively dry. Thanks
  13. Thanks, i’ll give it a try, hopefully it is a simple effective fix, don’t want to take it all apart again.
  14. I really need your help on this one. 1989 Renix 4.0, a few weeks ago I replaced the leaky valve cover gasket along with the water pump and other parts, a few days ago I refilled the coolant and today I cranked the engine a few times to prime the oil pump and noticed some coolant dripping from the front valve cover bolt (over thermostat housing), the OEM bolt was, for some reason, replaced by a previous owner/mechanic with a 1/4-20 bolt which i replaced with a similar bolt, I tightened the bolts in a circular pattern to specs. Did i puncture the water jacket? Anyone else had the same issue? Thanks
  15. I decided to take it to a shop to have it professionally painted, I don’t think the bedliner finish suits my MJ, as it won’t be an off-road rig.
  16. Thank you, I’ll look for the harness
  17. I replaced my passenger side, It takes some work but definitelly worth it. I used rivets and 3M panel adhesive, if i knew how to weld I would’ve welded it https://comancheclub.com/topic/73140-no-weld-floor-pan-replacement/#comment-765517
  18. I ended up getting the corbeau seat brackets fro my MJ, I haven’t picked the seats yet but i think ill go with the Moabs. The brackets fit nicely on the MJ seat studs. I found a nice XJ console as well,
  19. That’s a cool dash, hopefuly it isnt’t too bright, or can be dimmed.
  20. So ne need to run any additional wiring to the renix computer for the high-idle mode? Thanks
  21. I have the AC hvac deck, the HVAC box and the HVAC deck harness, I think i have the 89-specific electrical manual. I just need to figure out the wiring part, the under hood components i’ll be buying new, as they’re available, not worth using older parts with the r12 refrigerant.
  22. Do you recall which wire color goes to where? I don’t mind installing a relay, running wiring etc, I think it’ll be easier than finding a harness. Did you have to make any wiring modifications in the cab/dash? I’ve looked everywhere and can’t find information on the wiring aspect. Thanks
  23. 1989 4.0, truck never had AC from the factory
  24. Thanks, yes they’re steel pop rivets, 3/16’s, i used a cheap hydraulic tool, hopefully they’ll provide additional strength on the frame. Even the adhesive on its own does a great job, I went with the rivets to give it additional support.
  25. Good to hear, do you know what connects to what? I'm assuming one of the wires is the input for the AC compressor and another for the power fan? I’m assuming there’s another wire under the dash somewhere that connects to the dash control panel, I haven’t started reassembling the dash/interior at this point
