  1. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with the truck as of right now.. its only 2wd and i'd love for it to be a 4x4, that also kinda defeats the purpose of lifting and things along that line. ya, mowing paid for 90% of this project, its also successfully sucked those funds dry (parents don't hold my money if you havent guess) but i am getting a job this summer.. i've read a lot into converting it into a 4x4, new tranny (or rod end.. whatever it is), transfer case, front axle, front driveshaft, some have even said new rear driveshaft.. now i'd be MORE THAN HAPPY to put the work into it, i love working on this truck, money's the problem as of right now..
  2. finished product of the last few projects :wrench: wichita's been getting snow consistantly so its a little dirty..
  3. I haven't done anything in a while but this weekend i finally got around to painting those faded plastic parts (door handles, mirrors, grille, headlight frames) Before- After-
  4. no.. when the engine got hot enough you could see grease boiling on the gasket, it was very obvious
  5. maybe a sensor.. check your vacuum lines too
  6. This is my first truck, i bought it myself from money i got from mowing and stuff like that. i was 13 when i bought it and I'm 15 now. i got it off one of my dads friends. it sat it a field for 5 years and before that was just a daily driver and before that was a pasture truck that never left the land. NO RUST and the engine still doesnt smoke with 206,XXX miles on the original motor. when i got it, it had a bad clutch, radiator and tires.... it has manual windows and they'd only go down part of the way and wouldnt go back up so i took the door panel off, took a pair of vice grips and "unwound" or streched the spring out and the passenger snapped but the driver's side works great now i put a new radiator, new clutch master cylinder, new resivor tank, new valve cover gasket, new vacuum lines, new rear tires (mud and snow 235, 17, r15), straighten steering and major tune up (distributor, wires, plugs, oil, air filter ect.) this is my last, and most major project was putting a new intake/exhaust manifold gasket which was the first one i majorly took pictures of so here they are from start to finish
  7. yes.. be careful with the gasket on the unit.. if its old you might just want to replace it. and its happened to me so MAKE SURE you don't have any other vacuum leaks, this might help http://oljeep.com/gw/vac/90/1990_2.5L_vac.jpg
  8. thanks guys.. it was a leak in the intake manifol gasket. i swapt it out and the truck runs great now
  9. I'm not completely sure about the 2.5 but it should be on the tb and look like this http://i.ebayimg.com/16/!By5RhJQB2k~$(K ... g~~_35.JPG
  10. put in a 25.. just keep a look out for melting in the wire (RARELY happens)
  11. idle air control valve is on your throttle body.. take it out and clean it, see if that helps, carefull with the liquids its easy to break it. if that doesnt help check your pcv or ccv valves and grommets depending on your engine. if those don't help then check all of your vacuum lines and gaskets (intake, exhaust)
  12. How do you/ can you bypass an air charge sensor. i have an 89 comanche 4.0
