  1. Put the starter back in after having it tested yesterday, but I wasn't able to try and start it. I have no idea what is going on with it. Then I got in trouble with the wife because I was suppose to be getting ready to go to the in-laws. Now I'm at my in-laws wishing I was still working on my truck!
  2. Fried turkey and pumpking pie!
  3. I have a set, but shipping would be a big PITA. If you're coming close to Houston TX for the holidays, I'll hook you up.
  4. No I never checked the battery, but I did try my battery out of my Dodge Ram. It did the same thing, I turn the key on everthing is fine, fuel pump primes, gauges work. I turn the key to start and it sounds like it turns the fuel pump on and off, but no clicking or any other noise from the starter. Tomorrow morning I am going to put my starter back on and make sure I'm getting juice to the solenoid from the key.
  5. Thanks Pete. I went to Orielly's Auto today and the short bus must have brought the employees to work today! After waiting a small eternity in line, the women behind the counter argued with me about my starter. She insisted that she couldn't test it because it didn't match the picture on the machine. She kept looking up an 86 comanche and I told her that mine was an 88. I also told her that Jeep didn't even have a 4.0L in 1986. I got annoyed, yanked my starter from her hands and went across the street to Autozone. The gentlemen at Autozone tested my starter in less than 10 minutes. So the good news is that my starter is fine, but what the H*LL is wrong with my Jeep?? I don't know what else to check. New battery cables, ignition switch, and a nice working starter. What else could it be??
  6. Well it wasn't the ignition switch. :fs1: My next guess is the solenoid on the starter. Pulled the starter and cleaned it up. Is there a way to test the solenoid before I buy a new one?
  7. It's a 5-speed. I've even tried to start it in neutral, nothing different. Tomorrow I am going to change out the ignition switch and see if that does anything.
  8. I just put on brand new battery cables, same problem. Ground the negative side cable to the body and now my wipers work fine, my turn signal and hazard lights all work fine. But when I turn the key to start it kills the fuel pump and won't even turn over the starter. Could this be an ignition switch problem or do I still have a short somewhere?
  9. My hazard lights work but my turn signal lights do not. When I try to start the truck it sounds like it is cutting the fuel pump off and won't turn over. My wiper blades also are working slow. No blown fuses. Do I maybe have a short? Any ideas on what is going on?
  10. I was here, but now I have to get back to work!
  11. TJ Rubi shares the same 5 on 4.5" pattern as the MJ. Sure does. The bolt pattern didn't change until 2007.
  12. I have one without a tv on it. I never use it, it wasn't loud enough! I robbed the Jeep letters off from it for a future project and the rest sits on a shelf in my garage. I may clean it up and let my kids play with it.
  13. Well I have decided against using the 91 a/c box. So, today I replaced the 91 a/c box with the one out of my 89. I have now removed 3 a/c boxes and installed 2, and I have to omit that it is getting easier. I have everything wired and ready for the dash to go back in. I will be hooking up the compressor tomorrow and start trying to figure out all the wiring under the hood. When I am done, no one should be able to tell that the truck didn't come with A/C from the factory.
  14. My 88 has both tags, but my 89 has a sticker with the vin #.
  15. PayPal sent.
  16. I'm just looking for some ideas. I want to convert my Rock Lizard bumper.
  17. Do you have any pictures of the back side with the winch?
  18. I can post a pic up tomorrow. It's the black plastic piece that sits on top of the A/C box opening. It has the defroster vents that go up by the windshield.
  19. Do you guy's think I can make the 91 A/C box work with my 88/89 wire harness? The 91 has 3 wires and my harness has 2.
  20. I'm looking for a defroster air duct for my 1988. I chopped mine up when I was installing my in dash TV. Shipping would be to Magnolia TX, 77355. Thank you,
  21. I put a heater A/C box in from a 1991 comanche. The A/C thermostat has a 3 wire plug, and my harness has a 2 wire plug. Any ideas on how I can make this work? Does anyone have a harness from a 1991?
  22. I know its been a while since I first posted this thread, but I finally got around to this project. I currently have my dash taken out, the old Heater box taken out, and the new Heater A/C box installed. What a huge PITA! I will continue to update this thread when I make some progress.
  23. Any pointers for a guy who has never taken out a dash? I can handle pulling the radio, heater controls, cluster, dropping the steering, but is there anything speacial I need worry about?
  24. Anybody want a project? I started to sand one with scotch-brite, way too much work for me. Make me an offer, plus shipping from 77355.
  25. I have an older style one for sale if anyone is interested. Previos owner started to paint it, other than that it is in pretty good shape.
