I think my fan clutch might be out. Is it suppose to move by hand with hardly any effort?
-
I'll check it when I get home.

Up until last week it has been reading around 210ยบ. Now if I don't turn on the heater it gets in the Red Zone on the guage.

What all is needed to do the conversion to an open system?

Not a bad idea Pete. I might give this a try. I have a couple extra electric fans laying around.

I should have my truck back by the end of the month. Almost $8000 in damage! I was lucky it was all body damage and nothing wrong the frame or anything mechanical. I still will probably be trading her in. I should be able to get a pretty good deal on a new truck with gas prices these days. Nice clean Dodge Ram 4x4 for sale! :brows:

Best way to transport a 2nd Bed

Here's how I moved my extra bed! :D I wish the trailer was mine. -
Welcome to the club. What part of the world are you from?

Eagle, I tried this and after I turn the truck off and it starts to cool down the coolant starts flooding back into the pressure bottle not sucking it in. It's not sucking any fluid. What is going on? What am I doing wrong? My truck has been fine but after my DW issue recently the truck started to overheat. Do I have something else wrong?

hornbrod, Did you end up installing these hood vents?

I got sick of looking at my truck all black and blue so I gave her a nice $20 flat black paint job. I still have a little more painting left to do, but I think it looks alot better. Someday I will have enough money saved up to get all the body work and paint done, but for now spray paint will have to do. I switched out my MTR's with some gas friendly Bridgestone Revo tires, that are survivors from my Liberty. I installed some bucket seats, which still need a good cleaning, a new console and I also added some new switches. She's my daily driver right now so I hope to have my AC installed in the next couple of weekends.

Death wobble with smaller tires?
JohnQ replied to JohnQ's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
No more death wobble! At least for now. I'm pretty sure my stabalizer was shot and the whole steering set up was pretty loose. I robbed the whole steering set up from my 89 and put it on the 88. Everything is nice and tight now. I put almost 20 miles on her and no more DW so far. I also get to keep my baby tires on for now! :D -
Death wobble with smaller tires?
JohnQ replied to JohnQ's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Well I went to a shop today and had the tires all balanced and rotated again. Had all my bushings and ball joints checked. Nothing is loose, but I still get the wobble. And at 50-60mph it is pretty darn scary! I have the spacers in the front because of the heavy @ss ARB bumper. My truck sits nice and level with them in. I'm going to switch my wheels back and see if I still get the stupid DW. -
Due to all the accidents my family has had since April 18th, I am now driving my Comanche daily. I have a 62 mile round trip and I decided to swap my 245/75/16 MTR's for my set of 235/70/16 Bridgestone Revo's to save on some gas. Both sets of tires are on Rubicon Moabs. I had three episodes of Death wobble this morning on my way to work. My truck has a rough country 3 inch lift and some 2.5" spacers in the front. Is there anything I can do to stop the wobble and keep the smaller tires on? Does it make any sense that my truck has death wobble with the smaller tires or is it time to fix my front axle?

Thanks. I'm glad I wasn't in my comanche!

Tell me about it. I been ragging on Laura ever since she wrecked her jeep. We have always had an argument about who was the better driver, I guess there is no argument anymore, we both can't drive for $#!&! I didn't get hurt too bad and I was able to drive my truck home but man I feel like a dumb @$$!

Well had another bad day today! My father now calls us the Crash family. I was driving home from Wally world and the wife to be was driving behind me in her rental car. I got a green light to make a left turn and was driving under the overpass and glanced behind me for a split second, just to see if the she made it through the intersection. To make a long story short, I ran a red light on the other side of the overpass, I never even seen the lights until I ran into a newer crew cab Chevy. The officer told me that there have been quite a few accidents in that intersection because the lights are not visable until it is too late. My insurance is going to be more than my mortgage!

California Desert Wheelers:

Wow! And I thought paying $3.45 per gallon was alot. -
Family is doing great, just a couple scratches and bruises. We're still waiting to hear from the insurance company to see if they are going to total it out or not. The jeep was still running after the accident and I didn't see any motor damage. If they do total it out I might try and buy it back. I wonder how hard it would be to swap the motor and tranny into my 89 comanche? I got bored today and made use of the Moabs! :D I think they look pretty good, but if the liberty gets fixed, then they are going back on it.

The wife to be ran off the road today and wrecked my Liberty! Her and both my kids are fine, just a little shaken up. She ran off the right side of the road, over corrected and plowed over a steel pipe mail box, lauched the jeep into a tree ripping it out of the ground, and rolled onto the passenger side. In case they total it out, I robbed my moabs and optima battery. The wrecker driver was nice enough to help me change out the wheels. She wrecked the jeep less than a block from our house! Thank god her and the kids didn't get hurt.

:agree: I've got a set to go on mine. There the older style which I like better than the smooth ones. I'll be mounting them to whatever brush gaurd we put on. I've been looking for a set of the older ones. I have a set of "JEEP" covers but they won't work with the newer style lights. I might end up using these lights as rock lights on my 88. :dunno:

I like it. I'd like to do something similar in the future. If you do it make sure you take lots of pictures. :D I can't remember the dimensions on this MJ but I like the look.

I got these Fog lights off from a 2004 TJ for $25. I put them on my 89 pile of bolts! Do you guy's think some rectangle lights would look better?
-
Man I'm sorry I didn't see this posting earlier. I have an impact gun I would have let you use. I might have a trailer lined up for this weekend for only $50. :D
