wel i got it build thread: -
well I bought an 87' metric ton mj. 4 liter i6 312k miles and the 4 speed auto(might swap for a stick later). Literally no rust. It has a tiny bit of surface rust on the tailgate and the hood. I got it for 2k it needs a lot of work such as a new bench seat, figuring out why the taillights and tail turn signals don't work (fuse?) I need to give it a good cleaning. I need to name it to I'm getting some like rough and tough girl vibes from it(if anyone has any suggestions lemme know) it also needs a new grill( the dude I bought it from gave a mint one to me)

i have a whole lot of time. it has a lot of miles on it but maybe i can swap the engine. I want it to be a semi daily driver and a good offroader. whatever you have to say I'm all ears -
https://cars.ksl.com/listing/6803752 I'm looking for your guys' opinions on this jeep I'm thinking about getting. Its an 87 4wd long bed with the four speed auto(I'd prefer the stick but there is always swaps) it does have 312k miles on it and isnt the most pretty color. mjs in my area are kind of rare. looking for a speedy response.

thats my thinking. I'm just collecting data right now

I am going to school full time with no shutdowns or anything, although about 1/3 of the school right now chose to be online through the district. I am very impressed with the amount of mask wearing and social distancing in place.the most cases we had school wide was a total of 14 cases over 2 weeks at the highest point. I am nervous for this weekend because I don't trust highschoolers to not go to partys or anything. (for context I go to Hillcrest High in midvale utah)

that makes a lot of sense. you've given me some stuff to chew on
-
undecided. I think just work on it on and off over the next couple years. I mean I'm in high school. I have 4,000 right now to spend on it.
-
Kinda daily drive it take it out wheeling a lot. I would get a lot of use out of a pickup and just want a project for fun.
-
ok groovy

what will I eventually need to do something to the steering but what will need to be done to it to make it good again in a year or two?
-
sweet

should i swap the front d30 I don't want to put money into an axle to either have it break or replace it it in a couple years also I feel like i would run into steering and radius arm issues. But It would be nice
-
I'm not getting any of this
-
I'm so confused. If I go 6.5" coils in the front and spring over in the rear giving me 5'' won't that be squatted?
-
I am, this is research too.
-
If I'm lifting 6.5 in the front it will be all squatted. how do i even it out or, preferably, get the stock rake
-
I can't find mj specific 5.5 or 5" leafs. do you know if xj springs will work. if not what springs do I look for
