What did you expect from a Californianite? Oh crap, I also live in California. Um never mind.

Pete, you should rename this post, "The Redneck Follies ". This is similar to the Red Green Show.

Wow, I just read your thread of woes. I commend you for sticking it out.

Thank you for the reply.

Thank you.

Anyway, how have you repaired bolt locations when the fiberglass breaks off? I'm removing mine to remove the front fender. Thank you for your help. (I asked for the name of this earlier)

Thank goodness its back and drives. My 86 Comanche has a burnt valve, leaking transmission and... preparing to swap the motor for an a.c. already prepared engine.

Its alive. But what a major pain. I had someone finish off the clutch replacement. It shifted great until the shift cable ends failed. So they replaced those. One side work great. But the other side would fall off by looking at it. Come to find out that the ball where the clip hooks to is heavily worn. Oh it gets better. So I thought that I could get another one from a junkyard from a 4 door manual transmission. Same transmission, same parts, right? NO!!! The 3 door is different from the 4 door. In the picture 3 door on left, 4 door on rightSo what I had to do it take a file to the ball clip and make a new edge on the ball end for the clip to lock in. But she lives.

No not really. I'm 6ft 5inch tall and crawling in under the dash is a pain.

Has anyone done, heard or seen if anyone has relocated the fuse block from under the dashboard to the engine compartment? My future plans for another truck, a 1960 Ford f350, is do do that. Originally the fuse block was 4 fuse block on the light switch. I picked up from a junkyard a fuse block and cover from a Ford truck (with a Ford logo) and I'm going to have it mounted on a fender housing. Now for the Comanche, I will be doing a clutch replacement, possibly engine swap with a.c. install. With body work, and Raptor paint. With the a.c. adding, i will need to remove the dash to install the condenser and stuff. (I'm 6ft.5 and I don't want to lay on my back to install it). So since I'm removing the dash why not relocate the fuse block too. Any good or bad comments are always welcome.

Yes I am a little bit slow. But I should have looked for this thread with all of you Comanche owners. Wow, everyone loves this truck.

I really hate being sick and feeling sick to my stomach. So I took some tylenol, crawled into bed and turned the tv on. We have direct tv and on HBO, Tom Cruise movie of War of the worlds was on. I remember seeing this in the theater. Anyway, while watching it again, I seen something that caught me by surprise. Ok the scene, towards the end of the movie, where Tom and his daughter were hiding out in a farm house. The daughter screams, Tom runs out of the house. The alien machine sees him, he runs to a pickup truck and dives inside. The tentacle arm goes through the cab, picked it up and...

Yes. Found on road dead. F*** over rebuilt dodge. First on race day.

My clutch died in November of last year. I tried to fix it but for health issues and I found out later that I had to drop the cradle. I just gave up.

The red bar over the engine compartment is an engine support.

Ok thank you everyone for your help.

Well, I guess this picture is related to the Comanche and the focus. My Ford focus is going to the repair shop Monday morning. Then when the focus is done, my Comanche is going into my garage.

Thank you for the tip. Autozone sucks. I agree with rockauto though.

Thank you for the tip.

Thank you for the info. The 85 donor truck was a towed behind an RV. But then someone decided to shove the rear axle forward about 2 feet. Its been a great parts truck for $400.00.

Has anyone tried to rebuild their own?
-
Yes, i know that I could install a.c. to my system. But... My truck has the old 2 v belts. Not a serpentine belt. The 85 has the serpentine, plus the harmonic pulley plus the a.c. brackets, pump etc etc. Thank you for your response.
