  1. Good Morn: I will be chk around Mon Morn. I am down in S/E corner of N.C. out side Wilmington, small town of Rocky Point. Thanks for all the Assist. Be safe. Russ
  2. Hi, That is what i wanted to hear, i will go to my local Jeep Dealer Monday. @ 187k mileage, i do not want to sell it. Thanks again. Got my Brakes on the + side after joining this site, @ 79 i do not venture into any lrg opts, any more.
  3. Good Morn: Then are you telling me that i am buying inferior parts through NAPA. I should be getting the Mopar part? Thanks for the response. I do not want to sell my wheels, but it is tough when i can not depend on it. Can you tell me a little more about the harness that was talked about in earlier Posts'?
  4. Yeah replaced my whole set up, the mat was the whole culprit, saturated, cable froze from rust.
  5. 89 Comanche 4.0. i just had my 3rd one put on in 5 yrs, the last less than a yr ago, paying $56 for it. Why are they failing? This is the Crank Shaft Position Indicator, as shown in the Haynes Manual ? I get them @ NAPA
  6. Not sure of mine but felt resistance when i move the arm up or down, figured it to be ok, left the LSV in place. Mossyjaw
  7. Had no arm to start with, made a new set up today. Made a new bracket for diff, added a 1/4" plate to backside of arm, fasten with 2 1/4" bolts,Bored new 3/8" holes to accept the new rod , modified a lawn tractor steering linkage using the end swivel & shortened rod as needed, bored a 9/16" hole in both pcs to accept the old knuckles which i left in place. This gave me a rod about 3 3/4" to 4", threded ends which i butt welded.
  8. Looks great, @ 77 i don't think i'll challenge any projects like that. Just did all my brake system on my 89 Sport. Went to local Pick & Pull here in Wilmington, NC to check on some parts, & they had crushed the 88 & 89 Comanche, they had, sad day. Also bought a small flaring tool from NAPA for dbl flaring , first attemp, went well. New emergency brk cables & all is stock, L/S seems fine, just a daily driver. Russ/ Mossyjaw
  9. I'm new here, but from what i'm reading is if the HLV seems to be functional it best to leave it alone. Upon reading the brake bleeding procedure , it's a bit more involved on these MJ's than normal. I've had a local mechanic try to get me good brakes to no avail. I took the bull by the horns & toar it down @ home, & i'm sure after reading this forum w/ all this info, i'll have good brakes. Mossyjaw, N. C.
  10. New, member, forum very helpful. Was installing new emergency brake cables, due 12-31-17. Removed floor mat 1yr ago, HPV still hooked up ,can feel pressure differential when moving arm, didn't know what the block did, do now. Will leave in in place, just do the mod on front brakes for now.Brakes were horrific, didn't dare drive it too far, right rear line look as if it had 99% blockage @ a protective plate on rear end housing, had a severe pinch. I have a 1989 Comanche Sport, short bed, 4x4, A/T, locked the front drive in, put a hose clamp on shaft, internally, after removing the vaccum motor , 40l engine, 189 k on the speedo. Installed a later mod radiator with fill tank. Putting new brake shoes & drums on the back. I'm 77yrs, don't plan to do any major mods, want something to drive % let the big trk stay home & rest, 2k, k3500 ,crew cab.4x4, diesel, 8' bed. Last year of the Classic Style. Thanks for the info here been a great help. Mossyjaw, N.C.
