  1. I am not certain how often you lead without following, but I remain thankful and far more grateful to those who are willing to follow rather than demand to lead like Hitler and Napoleon. I have done both and the "following" part was much more fulfilling to me then the "lead" part. A world of leaders is a world of anarchy, dude. Given what LNF stated, is it true that TJ DANA 44s are as thin-walled as the DANA 30? LNF has stated the first that I have ever heard about the weakness of the TJ Rubicon axle. If it is not a true 44, then I am grateful for his info. I hope that someone can either clarify or rebut this issue. V/R  Paul

  3. Take the job if it is offered Brent, You can always ditch it later if something better comes along. In the meantime, you will have a job! Congrats on your progress! V/R  Paul

  7. For those who are bolting factory TJ DANA 44s onto the front of their MJs, will the TJ factory front driveshafts work? What is the best front driveshaft solution for the TJ 44 front axle? Sorry to keep bumping this thread, but I am VERY close to making this swap. V/R  Paul

  9. Good evening Brent, My deepest condolences go out to you concerning this difficult time. I hope you find employment of a MOPAR nature ASAP... V/R  Paul
  10. Is the front TJ DANA 44 axle of the same width (tire to tire) as the MJ DANA 30? Paul
  11. US Army - 1988-1994 HOOAH! OOPS...wrong Army flag! :D -innocent- -halo- Let me try again: There...that's better! :D :D Make the best of it and good luck! V/R  Paul
  12. I am not convinced that you need to spend $1.8K on a replacement 4.0 to stay on the road. Spend about $100-$200 on your cooling system instead! The H.O. can wait aboutten more years when you will REALLY n eed a replacement 4.0. Sorry that this experience interefered with your night out with the significant other...that part sucks... V/R  Paul
  13. Good evening (EST) Don, Yes...everything including the delay should be there. V/R  Paul
  14. Here it is: I basically paid approximately $100.00+ for that kit. God forbid I dare post without pics, otherwise Pete will post my information in The Pub... V/R :beerhead: Paul
  15. Pictures of being stuck in a trench?! That was a BAD day and it is certainly not one I need to relive through photographs! I'll see you in The Pub, Pete! V/R Paul
  16. Here on the east-coast a LOT of my off-roading has been spent roving down desert beaches searching for that perfect fishing spot or just my own section of the Atlantic Ocean. Given that as it may, I have witnessed the baddest of the bad manage to bury themselves beyond self-recovery...mostly due to lack of sand-roving. It happened to me back in 1993 on Ocracoke Island, NC...my third time sand-roving. A Wrangler owner was digging-out his buried Jeep in a very rutty loose/deep sand area near where many 4x4 enter and exit the beach. In my experience, the beach entry/exit area is one of the most popular areas where many manage to bury their monsters! Like the inexperienced sand-rover that I was at the time I parked my 1989 Mitsubishi Montero right inside of two ruts that were in the sand in order to assist the Jeeper. We managed to dig out the Jeep and like the fool I was, I gunned my Swamper Thornbirds right into the rut! The Jeeper parked in a safe flat-sand area to help dig me out! About a minute later, this HUGE monster-Ford F-something with happened along with a chain and said "follow my lead!" The Ford man hadn't pulled me out of my trench only 30 seconds before his engine stalled! I had noticed that it had been idling a bit rough. He appeared to be experiencing electrical difficulties as his cranking powere was not strong enough to turn over his engine. I parked my Montero on a nice safe flat spot of sand next to him and broke out the jumper cables while the Jeeper remained to provide moral support, "leave no man behind", etc.! The jump-start worked and the big Ford's engine turned-over! At this point, all of us were out of immediate danger from our embarrassing moments of glory and at the earliest opportunity, we all bid each-other adu, hopped back in our 4x4s and hauled @$$ away from that bad-luck area! Ever since that experience, I have always respected the sand and haven't returned to any situations beyond self-recovery. That being stated, is there any recommendations out there concerning what sort of suspension setup works best in deep/loose sand, i.e., clearance, locked/unlocked, etc.? I would like to add on-board air at some point in the future as low-pressure is great on sand. Perhaps I should just keep respecting the sand! Thanks for reading! V/R  Paul
  17. Even back then, I felt that the kit was expensive, but I REALLY wanted the feature with that factory look! I don't like foreign toggle-switches hanging from the bottom of the dash, etc. The cruise-control option has paid for itself in the speeding tickets that I no-longer get due to not paying attention to the speedometer! The Virginia State Troopers spare no mercy on speeders! V/R  Paul
  18. Do you remember what you paid back then Catatonic? If memory recalls correctly, I don't believe I paid near what that guy on eBay is asking...maybe $130? I will check to see if I still have the receipt. V/R  Paul
  19. This place is just full of solutions! :typing: V/R Paul
  20. About five years ago, I walked into my local Jeep dealership and was able to order the factory cruise control kit. This kit basically replaces your turn-signal stem and is an easy install. I think it is the exact kit that the Cherokee used. Check with Brent (BLHTAZ) to see if it is still available. V/R  Paul
  21. Check the bottom of your windshield for any iota of rust where the winshield seals to the body. That was the source of the leak I experienced in the same general vicinity of that which you are experiencing. Good Luck! Paul
  22. While my back was turned, I was smacked in the back of my head for donning my Patriots jersey by a Steelers fan or fans with a Heinz Ketchup bottle (thank God it was plastic...even though it was full) back in 2005 at Buffalo Wild Wings (BWW) at Winchester, VA. BWW in Winchester, VA is a Steelers bar anyway. That day the Steelers lost to us was a devastating loss to them and my pain was one that I assumed for the Team. As for the "Terrible Towels" or 'damsils in distress' (that is what they look like)...what more can anyone say? They continue to profess that they need no cheerleaders as if they do not appreciate women in scantily cladded clothing? Is Pittsburgh g-a-y???!! Paul
  23. I like the "Comanche" logo on the glovebox door. Jeepco and Bookspan are correct. You have a very clean MJ to do with whatever you want. Why would you even consider parting with it? That is just my worthless opinion... V/R Paul
  24. I wish you could enlighten me concerning Part #52098169, but no-one of any parts numbered knowledge desired to answser that thread... :beerhead: Paul
  25. Correction...the subject driveshaft is only a little longer than three feet in length.! I hope this is the correct part... :beerhead: Paul
